I believe their is a good chance that I got Valley Fever (VF) while attending and working the Burning-Man event... Did you have the test done and have confirmation it was Valley Fever? With a transient population of 80K people from far and wide, and the high density of the population, there is a mu...

Re: Box truck shade structure ideas

Not a bad thought, Token. I could cash in my old yurt and save a lot of cost. Any thoughts on securing the rmax to the box roof? Will stucco tape really hold? Should hold if you tape the edges that would catch the wind. It’s stronger than painters tape but also comes off clean up to 14 days. You ca...

Is a picture of your drivers license on your phone good enough for playa bars? That coupled with I’m 63! Nope. NV laws apply. If you are 63 and don’t have multiple forms of ID ... Re: Large-Scale Misting

Misting done right can be very impressive for cooling large open air spaces. The key to it is good design and getting the right droplet size for flash evaporation. - the sweet spot where all the water evaporates before reaching the skin. To do it right without big loud fans, you want high water pres...

BTW, you can put 6 R-max sheets on the roof, Reflectix over pool noodles on the side facing the sun and use stucco tape.

Done. Yo will have radiant shields and ~ R6 insulation where it’s needed most.

No ropes, straps, sails, noise...

If you park often when out on the town and have room in the MV for the generator ... you can recharge on the road as opportunities present.

Re: No Bake Tent Reviews?

Yeah, but that’s Reflextix bubble wrap you’re using as a reference, right? The power of that product is low mass of the Mylar/HDPE or whatever it is coupled with the captive air bubbles, then you add any “gap” insulative properties. Not easy to stich a tent with that. The “woven sheet” Reflectix has...

Re: Container/shipment options from Los Angeles?

Don’t think LA folks organize one. At least not while I lived there early this millennium.

Closest I’ve seen is folks pooling resources on a few 26’ truck rentals at The Brewery complex, but that was always a friends-n-family style.

Most drive their stuff out.

The magic stay-cool tent is fiction. No matter how many buzzword and how much pseudoscience gets tossed around there is no way around the laws of thermodynamics. Will it warm up slower than the $100 tent from the big chain stores? Yeah, probably. But those extra 15 - 20 minutes sure ain’t worth that...

Paper Parasols are the perfect choice for BM.

They cheap

They burn

They take tempera paint real nice

They gift well

Lots of places to get them in bulk.

If not, that is what you need to do.

Once it becomes an RV, the CDL requirement should go away.

I picked up a Honda 2200 last week. It's a great little machine.
OT, but with no other load, it starts and runs the 13,500 AC (with hard start cap) in my trailer here at my home @4600' elevation.
Did you add a hard start cap to the circuit?

How big?

Re: Hexayurt A/C solar setup

They didn’t publish the locked rotor current for the compressor so we gotta guess a bit. If 4A max in steady state cooling we will guess that it is 8A surge for startup. 8A x 120V = 960W So a 1KW inverter should handle it just fine. For 480W steady state cooling draw, your 12V battery will be dumpin...

Sodium (Na+)
Chloride (Cl-)
Potassium (K+)
Magnesium (Mg++)
Calcium (Ca++)
Phosphate (HPO4–)
