Re: Consider the gauntlet dropped!

Fuckin far out! Smashing Good!

Remember the blender attachment for the chainsaw.

Best way to start a block party on the playa is to run naked down the block with a chainsaw blender making margaritas.

Having bacon back in camp as garnish makes it legendary.

Re: Calculating BTU/hr (How Much Propane) to Use for Fire Project

100 meter burner, flame every 10 cm. I’d seriously consider 34 x 10’ sections. Unless you’re going to put a speaker on the cap and make dancing flames to the beat of the music ... which is real fun but you don’t need more than 30’ for the full audio spectrum. Design goals should be: 1. Detection and...

800 fricking holes!? How the heck are you gonna light that without a big fireball forming somewhere? So, what you got there is a napkin design with a whole lot of sloppy all over the place. How precise is your flame orifice? Are you just drilling with a cordless dril and random bit or using precisio...

Re: HEY!!! @%$#^&!!!

Well, you have two choices. 1. Find an industrial plating plant and outsource to them. 2. Build a plating setup yourself and do the work. Option 2 - you will need to check local regulations to see if this particular craft is regulated. Regardless of regs, there is a mountain of safety that has to be...

Yikes, that looks big. Looks heavy. Looks expensive. Not clear which parts are aluminum, but I get the scale issue. Why do you want to anodize? Unless you need hardness, insulation, or etching patterns for further plating ... is this just for corrosion prevention? The two weeks on playa do not warra...

You know, that may be the most brilliant thing I have ever heard. Who wrote it, Beethoven? Brainchild of Al Jorgensen from Ministry and Trent Reznor of NIN fame. Side projects like RevCo, Pailhead, etc from the usual villains of industrial-metal-punk lore. Never gets old. I want the furry cuffs.

Re: Danger is in Burning Man's Culture

It was epic, especially after hours when sensible decisions got tossed into the wind.

How many people on this green earth can say: “I was ridden down a three story slide and landed in a pile of unwashed humanity”

Smelled like victory at the time.

I dunno SSE, simply don’t see the connection outside of some shared aesthetics. The one link between TTITD and SRL is via Ristow and RoboChrist, and even then it was just Christian under his name and brand. In the 80s and 90s in SF when SRL was very active, it was in a sphere completely of its own m...

You have clearly never been to the pond to kill the FrogBat! I’ll post a few: Gigsville Carbecue. For those that have not been to Gigsville, it is worth a visit. Every year GV brings out a full semi of firewood to the Playa, and keeps the hearth flaming hot. The vessel of this flame is the carbecue....

Your best bet is to search out Russian travelers/burners to hook up with. Russia and Ukraine are distinct and separate countries. At this moment, there is quite a bit of tension and some might say hostility between the two nations. But it’s OK, we are ‘Merucans so this is expected :P Awkward ;)

That to say everything back home is overly priced. Eg 6 to 10x. Omg! True, but when you get sick with strep throat back home you go to the doctor and they make you better. So we've finally hit that tipping point where the event now emphasizes legacy burners and camps, with presale/boutique-priced tickets to round out the coffers, at the expense of the proletariat participating in the regular main sale. So continues Burning Man's cultural decline. . So now you are hot...

Ah, yes, there is a big difference in how they are liquified and stored as well as the plumbing and regulation of the burners. That is true. In the end, for the OP from Malaysia, best bet is to use what is most available in the US. We use Propane much more than butane. Simpler to just pick up an Pro...

Butane gas canister, is it common there? Very common since pot was legalized. Lowes, Home Depot, WalMart, etc. etc. If you are planning to cook with this, propane puts out more heat and water boils at a higher temperature at altitude. Of course if you already have a butane stove.... That’s so...

Ratty is wise, take heed. The rubber galoshes will hold up fine wrt the dust and salt. Them not “breathing” is another matter altogether.
