Re: The person below me

Yup!/Nope? Be selfish, until you can be useful. No one wants to be stuck spinning their wheels. You Tube Video, "Ken Block's - Wild in the streets of LA." TPBM Understands the importance of navigation. I do. I never completely rely on my phone for a map. Even with my AT&T, my signal can drop out in...

Re: Newbie from NY looking for their first burn.

Look up your states and neighboring states, neophytes! Connect with locals and barely locals! I have traveled to Burning Man numerous times by taking a train to the next state. One of those occasions was a one-off ( lovely soul, I hope he's doing great out there) and 4 times with someone I'm still l...

Re: So long, and thanks for all the Fire

Love you so much, Eric, and have missed you and your lovely big laugh quite bit of recent. There are so many times over the years when I've wanted to say something on this board, but you just said it so much better that I just tipped my hat and didn't say a thing. :) I'm glad I know where to find yo...

Re: The Bar 2019 Edition...

Beets are suppose to be a "magical" food, but opening a can smells like dirt. Hence the other ingredients to mask that flavor. Sorry to hear about your tummy chummy. I love pickled beets! Though I did have a reaction to raw beets, the one time I ate one from the garden. I guess that's even a thing,...

Re: 2020 my 1st Burn

Hey everyone! I'm Nicole, most friends call me Nics! I am 30 years old and 2020 will hopefully be my first burn. I have been dreaming about this for a really long time, and I am finally able to go! Any suggestions, tips are so welcome! I am reading and prepping beforehand, but I would love to hear ...

Sounds like ESD would be happy to have you. You'd probably enjoy QRV duty if you're willing to drive an open field jeep instead of a Delta unit. :)

With this theme, even if you don't score tickets, in some parallel universe, rest assured, you did! Quantums always increase the odds. In one universe you are in a 5 hour online queue, in another, 3 and a half hours. And one of you somewhere didn't set the alarm. Does that increase the odds of para...

Re: Cost Preparation

Remember that all you spend on food for the desert is money you'd be spending on food at home , provided you aren't buying MREs or Mountain House dehydrated meals (which are completely unnecessary). So this is one way at looking at some of your expenses. You'd be eating no matter where you go. There...

I really liked the 2) sewing lace to a bra to make a dress and 2) those sewn-on loop trim that makes for instant cinching.

(Really hard to find short playa dresses I like; sounds like I need to make a few!)

Just realized (on my 99th post) I never said HI to you all. Thanks for the guidance, advice and entertainment! My immediate family had been going for years before I did it in 2014 - we are Reno/Truckee local. First year in I built a figjam cooler and a six foot stretch yurt, both found here on epla...

Re: Water Storage/ Shower Situation

Hello, this year will officially be my first burn! So excited to finally make it to the playa! Since I've never done this before I was wondering what is found to be the best way to store water (we will be using a yurt, no camp trailer). We will have a flatbed trailer to bring supplies etc. Also, wh...

Hey, I’m Jaybob. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to attend. I’ve been lurking over the years and have chimed in from time to time, but I have to keep BM at arm’s length when I’m not able to attend. It’s for my own sanity. After four years of being unsuccessful in the main sale I someho...
