Re: Sun protection without sunscreen
Well 2020 didn't happen but if you still plan on going in addition to what's been said so far you could try a full length outfit like a dress, cape or onesie. Also (I've never tried it myself) but people use parasols and even build shade structures on to their bikes. Indeed, I do love my parasol. I...

Re: what are you listening to?
I just found this for the first time and cried. There are multiple versions. I have edited this because I feel as though this is the first version I heard and was blown away by.
Nope: it's my 3rd version that I've heard, but it sounded like the 1st.

Wearin' a mask and social distancing; that's what I'm up to. That's my one thing every day.
If I'm successful and others are too, I'll be back on the job in 2021.

Re: How much water to bring
I do fine on 1.5 gallons per day; that's drinking + spray bottle "showers". (Remember that--if you're in a car--you'll probably also bring soda/seltzer/juice and hydrate on that too.) A little body wash liquifies really easily in spray bottles with water. Shake it. And bring more than one spra...

My reaction was the only appropriate one. Before driving away all alone I deanced the electric slide in the dust of the Black Rock playa. The location and event still awe me to this day as a place of magic. I will survive. Love it! So glad you're doing well. Pet Katy for me! I so love cats. ....

Re: Moisturizer
Hey all, what do you like to moisturize with? I hear lotions are a pain cause you can get all sticky and toss dust on top. Is it true that Grapeseed oil is a really good alternative to lotion moisturizers? I hear it won't leave you feeling sticky. Thanks Loves J PS I got paid today so I'll buy some...

Re: Solo Monkey Hut
Has anyone ever attempted to erect a monkey hut by their lonesome? I might do my first burn as a solo. Want my hut to be about 6 feet tall for guests. I'm 5'3". thinking a step ladder is a must. Love J PS will attempt it by myself in my yard first. It's possible; I've seen an average size female eP...

I am so sorry, Rhino and Gaminwench.
I am wrecked to report that my friend Panda, of Stag Camp, died in an accident this week. She was very funny, forthright, beautiful, and kind. I loved her. She was such a character, and I'll miss her forever.

Figjam, that comic depicting the man on train tracks was perfect. I love you, Savannah. That comic worked for me on multiple levels: first there was the hazard of the oncoming train, and that slope was steep enough that it was probably susceptible to landsliding. If you live in Simi Valley and the ...

Re: Keeping cool in a tent - tips?
The most important way to survive tent camping is to realize that you can literally dance and socialize and do activities ALL DAY. This is not regular America, where the night time is the right time, and having a cocktail before lunch is a scandal. Consider this: Shift your schedule! Go out in the ...

To analyze bot activity around the pandemic, CMU researchers since January have collected more than 200 million tweets discussing coronavirus or COVID-19. Of the top 50 influential retweeters, 82% are bots, they found. Of the top 1,000 retweeters, 62% are bots. https://www.scs.cmu.edu/news/nearly-h...

I like the 02 Cool battery-powered fans, and have two or three at this point. They do not allow too much, really . . . perhaps an hour more in the morning than you would have otherwise. But that hour can be precious. I don't shade my tent because I like having very distinct areas: 1) Shade. 2) Tent....
