I think it's a tragedy how many potentially good forum nicknames get wasted by these ticket beggar and lost item poster accounts.

Yes! . . . And I get mad when I have to ban a spammer with a cool nickname! What a waste.

Evening Bar. (* shakes jar of old dust onto the NEB) Home Burn at the Morris Burner Hostel was a nice clean change, with a very welcoming vibe. A happy evening, with good folks. We watched the live stream of the burn. Interesting the way it was sequenced with fireworks throughout and the big boom a...

Yikes! . . . Thank you for sharing that tale. I had often considered renting a box truck from that location if I were to ever do the whole fly + drive option. And I trust you'll definitely dispute the charges . . . ? Let us know how it goes. I would like to see if that happens to anyone else...

Welcome, GroundStart ! In much the same manner that you come to Black Rock City when you're supposed to, your playa name will arrive when it's ready, too. I’ve used an O2 COOL brand fan before. It uses 8 D batts but works pretty good Met too! I have two 10" O2 Cool Fans, and I like them a lot. About $20 at Home Depot and Amazon. One of them is older (6 or 7 years old?) and requires a tiny tiny screwdriver to get into it, so if anyone orders one, I de...

What THEY said. Even a medical doctor on ePlaya would not want to give you medical advice without seeing you in person. See a professional. Tell them that you will be in a very dry climate, with highs of 100F+ (although next week looks like mid-90's, but I haven't looked further) and lows in the 50'...

Yes. Both of you would need Ticketfly accounts, and to meet in person. The transfer (instructions linked) happens very quickly and cannot be undone. If the transfer does not happen quickly, while you're together, it's probably not legit. Send the link to your seller so they know how it works, and wh...

Note that your driver and anyone else in the car would also need a WAP to be able to enter in early with you. Quite true. Work Access Pass covers a specific person; everyone in the car needs their own WAP. Contact your volunteer coordinator to see if they can help you. And make a post here: https:/...

Hey AtomicPanda, Welcome. You're no doubt still reeling over the loss of your son. Hey All, This is my second time coming to Burning Man. My first time was in 2011 and I tagged along with 2 friends who pretty much brought everything I needed (tent, sleeping bed, etc). We also stayed with a camp (really nice people who participate hard) and everything was planned and prepared by t...

Re: PSA: Take Care of Your Feet Now.

If I remember correctly, the issue is cracks in the heel (or other places) can hold onto dust. So sanding the cracks down helps avoid the problem. :) Covering the feet is obviously safest . . . but if you can't resist occasionally padding around in flip-flops or sandals for an hour or two like Token...

Demetri, if you 10 x 10 shade structure is one of the EZ Up canopies, make sure that you stake it down really well. The EZ Up is famous for buckling, ripping away and flying and impaling cars and people. Recommended: get t-posts and pound them in to support the legs of the EZ Up. Tape legs to secur...

No doubt the Burner Express is air-conditioned; that's another good reason to have a layer to w...

Re: Securing my tent (sorry to beat a dead horse)

And for a small tent (yes, your Coleman is a small tent), all this nonsense with lag bolts and power tools is insane overkill. A 10 or 12 inch nail spike available in any big box hardware store and a 16 Oz claw hammer every human on this earth should own ... Cheaper, available, no batteries, impact...
