Re: Ideating a meal prep service for BM 2019

I could afford a meal prep service and have excellent experience-based feedback on what foods taste great out there, are easy to heat up, and handle well in a cooler. But fuck your burn, I'm not telling you and out of spite I'm just going to eat pickles, cheese balls, and canned chili this year. Ya...

Re: HAIR concerns on the playa? ;)

I go all week without brushing my hair. I have thick naturally curly shoulder length hair. It dreads on its own. I’m on playa for 14 days. I wash it or rinse it about 3 times. I am fortunate that it curls up nicely. I’m a wash and toss and I think it looks lovely... :D It does. Always very Goddess-y.

Re: SUSTENANCE - Captain's LOG 2018

The "Captain's LOG is a series of articles written in a style to appeal to the short attention span of today's "millennials" Think of it as a “cliffs notes” version of all the materials on the BMOG webpages and the many years of collective wisdom found in “eplaya” I am a better burner because of th...

Re: Burner in need of a Family

There's nothing wrong with going alone your first time if you are smart, self-reliant, resilient, and well-prepared. You've got to save your money, do a ton of reading (survival guide, ePlaya, whatever you can get your hands on, etc). Having your own vehicle helps a ton, but doesn't mean you can't b...

* Wigs are great (especially after sunset; they're a little hot in the daytime). * Hats are awesome, chin straps in front or behind the head are helpful. * One of my all-time favorites: a densely woven scarf or pashmina at least 5 feet long and 2 feet wide (or more). Wrap your head in it; put your g...

Welcome, unkulunkulu ! Being a lamplighter is a good volunteer gig if you're not sure what you want to do. It's a daily walk-up opportunity, and doesn't have to be signed up for in advance. https://burningman.org/event/volunteering/teams/lamplighters/ There are some other options in the sidebar--but...

Have you ever been out to, "Voted best camp"? 2 and L street. I love them. Over the loud speaker, "Hey lady, we can barely tell youre wearing adult diapers. Come in and have some vodka coolaid". A great bunch of ass wipes. They're one of my favorite camps! :D They gave me my only playa name to date.

Hey ePlaya folks, It's my hope to join you all at Burning Man this year. Like many, I've been intrigued by Black Rock City for years, but whenever I'd mention my interest to friends, I was often met with words of caution ("you know they sacrifice a person every year!" - my roommate) or dismissal ("...

Re: Neti Pots - use sterile technique and saline only

What's sterile technique? Boil the water first? I've been using distilled water and saline packets for 6-7 years. I used sterile technique at one time in a lab job. We had UV light-flooded rooms you could not be in with the lights on, negative pressure and iodine wiping everywhere. Playa dust is a ...

That particular hut was modified and enforced via extra vertical compression and triangulation with the posts running down the center.

Good design.
True! Extra supports.

I had a few extra myself this year; good decision.
