Mr Ygmir, completely understand your point. If it was possible to separate small individual retirement rentals, which I agree are better, from REITs and the Trumps of the world, great! We should be looking for ways to slow down irrational property inflation, while promoting building with long useful...

The Trump/Ryan proposed tax plan eliminates the deduction for state and local taxes on individuals, but preserves them for corporations. Probably the cleanest thing that could be done is eliminate all corporate deductions, then special interest corporate deductions could be rebuilt over time. That w...

Burning Man Global Expansion Reexamines Route

https://journal.burningman.org/2017/10/global-network/regionals/burning-mans-global-leadership-conference-to-pause-in-2018/ Many longtime burners ask "why do we need global expansion?" Global burners exclaim "all in." Given the years of the event, the cumulative burners would be ...

I love the old man. We can't do hay bales because MOOP, but I think the ever escalating man budget should go to lower ticket prices. 1996 was Helco, where you could sell your soul, and maybe LH did, so 1997 sells out is a logical follow on.

Re: A solution to suicides (at the man burns/ temple burns)

The BLM probably doesn't have a lot of experience in SRP liability. The last detailed Afterburn Report in 2013 had about $500K insurance costs in a $26M budget. That would include all kinds of insurance, including property and workman's comp. In my observation, the BORG has an able legal staff and a...

I’m thinking about setting up a LoRa Network and outfitting our entire camp’s bikes with very small GPS/transmitter rigs to track all of the bikes. It will provide not only pinpoint accuracy but it would be pretty easy to develop an app that would actually log all the locations the whole week to se...

Here is an article on battery charging for lead-acid AGM batteries: http://www.chromebattery.com/blog/agm-battery-charging/# Most of the time is spent in the "bulk" phase. In that phase the charger acts as a "constant current source." But if you put too much current through the b...

OP, welcome to ePlaya! We have many people here experienced in solar, generators, and energy systems on the playa, a wilderness, not the virtual ePlaya. Any first hand reports of laundromats during and post-burn in Gerlach, Wadsworth-Fernley and Reno? Theoretically one could drive out to Gerlach, but it's probably busy with LEO.
