Re: 10 Yr Environmental Impact Statement (Includes Relating to Culture)

I respect your contributions and experience on ePlaya/on Playa. Some of our ePlayans share outback experience. I can't understand the fear that accompanies the joy of country living. Maybe if I was you I would be concerned. If that's your fear, I would not deny it. We have had fear in rural Tea Part...

Re: 10 Yr Environmental Impact Statement (Includes Relating to Culture)

On all sides except the PCSO ... they simply get screwed every year. No, PCSO has screwed themselves. The sheriff and the commissioners have latched onto Burning Man as the enemy to get votes rather than focusing on their people's own needs the rest of the year. It is a common political tactic, loc...

In addition to Mr Sham's links to read, you can search ePlaya through Google - your-search-term site:eplaya.burningman.org. Using Google that way is much better than the search box on ePlaya itself. The main burningman.org has information on "exodus." As well as the BurnerxBus and BurnerxAir. The bu...

Merge new ePlayan posts request

I use ePlaya scanning new posts. Greeters intro does not show that, so sometimes I pop over there.

But multiple threads by the same poster on the main topics should be combined. I know it is work. I think that has been done in the past.

I'm proud of the people of Hong Kong now. They turned out 1 million for a march last week in a city of 7 million. Here is an odd one, the combination of increasing the number of vehicle passes while keeping the population the same and increasing airport costs. I would speculate without any inside information that BxB ...

Anybody find such (GPE) details? I'm very unhappy with the EIS. But we burners are a creative bunch, the opposite of bureaucrats. And we will work around and through much of the nonsense. I don't know GPE, but I would expect more resources on perimeter because homie security, the three letter agenc...

Consider this tactic to find a place. Park the vehicle. Put all the passengers to work going out on bikes with MURS radios and tape measures to find a camp space. Then, after reaching agreement with the neighbors, move the vehicle to he camp.

I think you may be misunderstanding the intent of my comment. It was two part: long term campers who want to be self sufficient in their small camp, but where; and the 2019 challenge of Placement vs the numbers of solo campers and unplaced camps. To the second: My first 3 years, I camped out about 2...

Mr Figjam is playa royalty, so he would be a great addition to many camps. (and villages...) I agree with Mr Figjam though, vehicles with exhausted drivers roaming the playa at all hours on arrival and finding a home in the placed zones is a BORG pipe dream and dangerous to walkers and bikers. Re: Need Deep Cycle/Inverter Recommendations

The go-to deep cycle battery is from Costco. With wally-mart, you would have to do a lot of quality research. You will need a voltmeter or a battery charge meter for the type of battery to know when to charge. Today many small inverters have USB charging ports to charge that phone you shouldn't be u...

Tickets Wanted Sticky - VP - Low Income

Most people seeking vehicle passes do not know low income ticket grantees have them. After discussion with the organizers, this item, with organizer messaging might be incorporated into the sub sticky. It would also be useful there, and in organizer messaging, and other places to set an expectation....

Re: I have heard that vehicle passes are easy to come by a few weeks before BM. True?

Maybe, but the unique screwups of the ticket sale this year makes it impossible to reliably compare how the secondary ticket market will unfold this year compared to last year. The very best way to get a vehicle into the event is to partner up with low income ticket holders and carpool. They have th...

OP I think you need to do a full copypasta to the 2019 RFP if you want to be credible on ePlaya

Generally the old years, 2018, are simple. Point 5 wants a tower, cell on wheels, basic LAN/IT in trailers, etc. Super boring IT AF.

And generally a local Nevada business gets the contract.

It makes me sad to hear the unnecessary and just plain rude statements coming from our president. We have international relationships which are generations in building and that the American people believe in. Recent examples were some of the president's statements about Japan and the UK.
