nighttime videographer

Hey kids - I'm looking for someone with a good video camera who will be filming at night who would be willing to take some footage of my piece sometime during the week. The details: The piece is a computer-controlled LED-lit bamboo-and-fabric walkway outside of the Black Rock Housing Authority (a la...

A trailer hitch plow sounds very interesting, though it also sounds like it might end up being one of those "it seemed like a good idea the time" things. (as opposed the disc brake idea, which doesn't even seem like a good idea :) ) Any particular advice on setting this up? Have you done it?

that seems good, yeah... And thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just go buy one for myself. If anyone wants to offer me use of a trencher for an hour (?), though, I'm totally down, would even barter something cool (I'd have to figure out what) for it. FWIW I think this piece is going to be prett...

digging trenches

This is obviously a solved problem, so rather than try to experiment with solutions, I thought I'd put it out into the ether and see how the big boys do it. Basically I just need to dig a bunch (maybe seventy feet or so) of wire trenches for this computer-controlled LED thing I'm doing. A shovel (at...

Hey - You rule - the pictures and text are awesome. One correction to your text, however: The two gorgeous ladies on the Lance Miller Show - Skinny D and Peachfuzz von Dutch from Ubercarney - are not both strippers. Only Peachfuzz, the one on the right with the braids (who gives the "ten second frea...

I also was quite shocked when he got upset that I wanted to write a message on the outside of the box. What an opportunity he missed there! Image all the amazing things people might write about his artistic statement... messages of support, messages of analysis, messages telling him he's a dick, du...

Yep, that must be them! Thanks so much for telling me who they are. Maybe I'll write them an email to ask what the name of the piece was...

Wish I'd been there in 2001; Afterlife looks like it was awesome.

It's Playa-Que like "Barbe-que." A bunch of my camp went there - one volunteered and gave her free meals to some other of our campmates. Basically they were barbequeing lots of weird stuff, ostrich, buffalo, whatever animals you could name... They liked my installation so they invited me to come eat...

deep playa light art

Hello all.. . I'm back in my default-world home and surveying all the mess from my pre-playa preparations... and I know the post-BM discussions are going to start coming on eplaya pretty fast and furious, so I thought I'd start one already... Probably my favorite piece this year was something that I...

Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, I'm not going to BM this year (and my poor ticket is going to have to rot in my locked apartment). I'd have love to have worked with you all, but it's just not in the cards. Next year I'll do something, I promise. <sigh> --JSP

Classical/acoustic/reading musicians on the playa?

I have no idea whether this is the right place to post this. I think the right place to post this doesn't exist... Anyway- I am a composer of art music and I'm looking for musicans who read music and would be interested in forming some kind of chamber group to play some music around the playa. My mu...
