Ride offered, Bay Area -> BRC, Sat early arrival
I'm offering a one-way ride up to the playa. I'm leaving the bay area on Friday 8/25 afternoon, and spending the night in Reno and heading into BRC early Sat morning. You will need a work access pass aka early arrival pass. You don't need to chip in for the hotel room, which has 2 beds, one for each...

Re: Social Anxiety on the Playa, coping mechanisms.
I'm a social introvert. I get along well (sometimes? usually?) with people but I need my quiet downtime. Fortunately, the playa provides in abundance. There's tons of chill spaces for you to lie down in the shade. There's camps that offer napping areas, hammocks, chill domes etc. Or even just take a...

Re: Camelbak versus Water Canteen
I carry both and then some... I have a 3L camelbak for my H2O needs, a vacuum-walled thermos flask so that my cold water lasts longer when I'm out adventuring, and a mug that clips onto a carabiner that I use when I'm bouncing between camps that serve drinks. I don't think I could survive without al...

Re: To cloak or not to cloak?
Perspiration just evaps before you notice it. But it still happens. Which is important to note, because in some parts of your body, it doesn't evap immediately (crotch, armpits). Zinc-based sunscreen (or rather titanium dioxide + zinc oxide) is totally bomb. This is the one I use and love http://www...

Re: Does this look secure?
Thank you everyone sooooo much for your feedback. These are the main points I'm getting: - tie it to the rack directly, not to the spoiler - tie down the brake lever - lower seat/handlebars to reduce drag - what happens if front wheel turns - let some air out of tires - can you open trunk for gate i...

Does this look secure?
I'm figuring out how to transport my trike to the playa. I got a bunch of straps and ratchets and I'm attaching my trike to the roof of my car like so. I took it on a short drive and it seemed fine but... Never done this before, so I'm looking for feedback, advise, suggestions etc. Thanks in advance...

Re: Trike carrier?
I've got a coupe. As it is, after packing for the burn, I give myself a high five and congratulate myself on my tetris skills.
Trike's definitely not gonna fit in there. I'm not THAT good at tetris

Re: Trike carrier?
Thanks everyone for the input! I was going to use that same design/idea and implement it myself using ropes. Now I've got more data points to consider :) - tie it onto my roof rack - tie it to anchor points on the front/rear of the car - paint scratch... not an issue for a car that's already 14 year...

Trike carrier?
I bought myself a Worksman Port-O-Trike (the folding type) a few burns ago, and it has proven to be some of the best money I've ever spent on gear. I've always had a U-Haul to transport my trike in, until this year. So I googled around, and I found this: http://shop.terratrike.com/product-p/tt600207...

Re: Exodus 2013 - How was it?
Also, When I was in line Monday AM from 1:30-6:30 pulsing seemed to NOT be in affect. We were scooting along avery 5-10 mins or so but it was all over the place. I tried turning the car off and sleeping for the first few hours but gave up on that after a while. :| My experience exactly. I was in li...

Re: Kissing Booths!!
How did I miss this? I'm the guy who designed the kissing booth, and that's my camp mate on the right side in the straw hat. We never got photos of the kissing booth cos the playa dust deigned to fck with the camera, and the booth ended up as scrap wood for different projects after the burn, so I'm ...

Along similar lines, has anyone tried the Schwinn Meridian? I too am looking for a trike, and for me the $60+ savings vs the Worksman/Westport models will be rather noticeable. Thanks in advance!

Re: question about anchoring kodiak canvast tent
@phil - Wonderful. I didn't think there would be any guylines but I wasn't sure. Seemed a little too good to be true. No ropes running around everywhere tripping me up!?
@Undecided - I'm not setting up the awning. Agree about leaving it rolled up.
Thanks for the responses guys

question about anchoring kodiak canvast tent
Hi, I just got a kodiak canvas tent after royally fcking up my cheapo tent last year. I had a question about anchoring it to the playa. Where do I tie the guy lines to the tent? Or do I just use rebar instead of the included tent stakes while setting up the tent? Or...? Thanks in advance for helping...

Re: Looking for a camp to join? Check out The Bureau!
Heya! Loved what you did with the bar, especially the part where it packs down flat! Hope you get some sick art on that sucka. So I'm looking for a place to camp for me + my girlfriend. We won't have a lot of stuff since everything we bring will have to fit into our 2-door Acura. I'm thinking, we'll...

Who's that artist?
I was in center camp one night and I heard this guy performing on stage. He was white, slim, tall-ish, wearing some kind of doctor-like outfit. He was rapping and making fun of the audience. I wish I could offer more detail but I wasn't uh... entirely clear headed. All I remember is that he was awes...
