Re: What time would you leave from salt lake City?

Leave at 7:00 am. I hope this info helps. You will also have hundreds if not thousands of tiny decisions like this while you plan your adventure to Black Rock City. It's best to become decisive and self sufficient, as your survival in the desert for a week depends on it. Introduce yourself and tell ...

Re: Donald Trump is my hero

I sincerely don't know how long it will take to rebuild our country, our world standing and our reputation as a world leader, once this nightmare has ended. The White House is nothing more that a dirty diaper stain reflection of it's defective occupant. My guess is this country will need 20 years to...

Re: The playa provides... will I find my iPhone? (home screen attached)

The playa provides, and perhaps losing my iPhone is part of the journey in this magical place. I'm making a request to the universe for my phone to be returned, if that's meant to be. Two hours before I married the love of my life on the playa, he lost my iPhone on our way from the BRC Municipal ai...

It almost feels like seeing an elderly person at the customer service desk in Walmart and they're sending thousands of dollars to a scammer overseas---and nothing you say to them will convince them they are getting scammed.

Re: Lost Diamond from wedding band

This is truly trying to find a needle in a haystack. This pee sized diamond is covered in dust and on the ground somewhere on the 7 square mile playa. I hope you get a Burning Man miracle and your diamond is returned. You might want to check your home owners insurance policy to see if a replacement ...

Re: Am I doing this right

My wanting to be a part of more, has less to do with the art and more to do with just seeing the city rise from nothing. But practically speaking, waps are given sparingly, and to people with special skill sets (I’ve been told) so.. that clashes with my ultimate wish to solo camp for my first burn....

Re: Lost orange hat after Temple Burn

Somewhere out in deep playa, maybe around the Head Maze, my hat went missing. I'll spare you the details , but if you found what you'd think as a fairly expensive, big city type of hat, Let me know and I can give more details. What an amazing Burn that was for me. I hope people felt the same. Many ...

Re: Am I doing this right

Welcome Mel, I love your intro. You'll fit in with this dusty bunch just fine. The idea of first timers coming and enjoying the city without going really big on art is pretty simple. So many don't quite grasp the lay-of-the-land prior to their first visit. Many have spent the better part of the week...

I'm sure you've found your local regional group here https://regionals.burningman.org/regionals/north-america/connecticut/ . If you really want to attend Burning Man, plan for yourself. So often a few friends start to dream about going, and one by one, each panics at the prospect and drops out. Pers...

Re: Does Radical Inclusion equal Racial Inclusion?

I find the discussion of attempting to increase the number of any particular group a bit bizarre. Burning Man does not survey who it sells tickets to, nor does it partition out batches of tickets for any group based on ethnicity. ANYONE who wants to buy a ticket, can buy a ticket. It's what radical ...

Ok. Last prep day. Summer's been too busy for extensive prep, but we'll be fine with our needs. Distracted with the death of a parent, backpacking trips, life, etc. So......I'm still looking for a concise listing of camps and their events. Also a target area to camp while not "belonging" to a camp....

Not sure I'm qualified to answer as 2019 was our first Burn. We had an amazing week, but we did see a few small pinholes in the culture. Hello BHM, as a first time burner, you are VERY qualified to jump in on this. As the next few weeks pass, your experiences and interactions will rattle around in ...

Great introduction PG. I hope you did all your reading on the prep for the event. It's going to be a dusty year. The more dust, the better.
Read up on the prep stuff in my signature below and poke around eplaya for some tips and tricks.
See you in the dust in a few short weeks.
