Re: Rain Boots on the Playa?

Good question on the rain boot. In 15 plus years, I have only seen rain a very few times--and for a very short duration. Chances are, if it rains when you're there, you will be far away from camp and you won't have your boot. If you're in your camp and it starts to rain, stay put, and you won't need...

Re: AJEEPGAL FROM CALI - VIRGIN BURNER

Jeep is tow cause I just don't know where I'll end up. As you are probably aware, once you get to a camping spot, you're not allowed to drive a vehicle on the playa. Bring a bike for transportation around BRC. What you may NOT be aware of, is if you bring a vehicle in tow that's not a regis...

Maybe Mr_Wolfe can post a photo of the bunny. It only has a value to the daughter, so there is no security issue with it going to the wrong person. 8)

Re: The Bar 2017 Edition

At what point in a new relationship do you bring up the fact that you have been to Burning Man (six times) and know you are going to have to explain what Burning Man is? I always get good advice in a bar so that's why I'm here. If you're fond of this person and want to have a life together, I would...

Re: A lot of Us want to go there!

Welcome Leotrap. There is quite a bit of planning for your first adventure to Burning Man. Since the event tickets have been selling out for the past several years, you may have trouble getting 50 tickets for your group to go. You can purchase presale tickets for more money, but you have a much bett...

I would be happy with a final moop map at this point. I would think that the BLM inspection would be public information and it would appear in the Reno Gazette.

I seem to be doing a good job avoiding the holiday insanity. We've had unseasonably warm weather, so it's helping to keep the holiday blues in check. Man, I am liking this global warming. 8)

The opening of the exhibit will be taking place on Thursday afternoon/evening. Not exactly sure of the specific details at this time. The entire building is being used for the displays of Burning Man. If you are within a plane flight of DC, you might consider making this trip.

Re: Segways in Burning Man

The one that I used was more along the lines of a hoverboard, not the large, big wheeled Segway that had handles. The feeling of standing up and moving towards various art installations was more the sensation of walking at about the speed of a slow bicycle, but not getting tired or winded. What I fo...

I got the "playa home" feeling my first year in Black Rock City. I arrived after dark during a dust storm and several people helped my set up my tent. (I had never really camped before) I move my stuff into the tent and poked around the area a bit before going to sleep. The following morni...

Yes I did try lost and found and just received their reply. They suggested I try here as a last ditch effort . I've posted here in past years and reunited items with 3 different folks. Another thing to consider, if you're not a placed camp, you would be finding a spot to camp once you get to the playa to set up your tent. The delivery of this generator would most likely have to have a location prior to the driver heading out for the delivery. (spotty or no cell phone service) As m...

What are you planning on running on this generator? We had a generator that gave out half way during the week, and I brought a 750 watt power inverter that clamped on to the battery of one of our rental cars. This ran all the camp LED lighting, a small refrigerator and the lights in several trailers...

And if she’s dead set on volunteering, there are on-playa volunteer opportunities. Can I also agree with this! Your friend will not be bored and looking for somet...
