Re: Greetings Everyone

Welcome to eplaya. I moved your post to its own thread for clarity.
Tell us a bit about yourself and what type of camp you may be looking for.
After the first of the year, things start coming to life with camps.
Good luck.

Re: I'd like to put a team together for a project...

I'm new at this, Another thing that's recommended for first timers, is to come to the playa to see and enjoy all it has to offer. Bring an open mind and a spirit of adventure. Prepare for things by reading up, then make the journey. Once you get a feel and a lay of the land, then you will have insp...

Re: I'd like to put a team together for a project...

Welcome to eplaya! Maybe tell us a bit about yourself to help bring your ambitions and first visit to Black Rock City to reality. Also, can you provide some specifics about your project to help motivate strangers to join in on the creation. For the most part, Burning Man is considered a do-ocracy--m...

Nothing at all. He was awesome and I stayed for most of his performance. Brinks Dinkles is another story.

Re: Country Bman tour?

I'm a person who has a Boston accent so thick you could cut it with a knife. I find the county music so twangy and painful to listen to, but gulped my way through Dinks Binkly's song. Once is enough. I sure hope Dinks doesn't make an appearance on the playa for Burning Man 2019 like Alan Parson's di...

Re: Biggest MOOP in the history of Burning Man

I think there is some misguided expectation that art cars and mutant vehicles are built specifically for the public to climb on and ride. There is a finesse and tact to working your way onto an MV. The only public part of these privately owned vehicles is to look at and be entertained by the awesome...

Hi everyone. Greetings from Madrid. I found this post checking and looking for some information about other geodesic domes companies. Actually, I have an Event Geodesic Domes Rental Company in Spain, https://www.Geodomes.es and I know Burning Man but I never was there, and I really like it, maybe i...

Please don't hate on the Greeters.
There are only a few (Jaded old burner) that are anti- Greeter .. They will burn out on BM quick enough ..
I love the Greeters. Every one that I can find gets a nice gift from me. It's my official start for my week of mayhem. 8)

Re: Greeter Bypass For Early Entry

I can envision 10 "Greeter Free" lanes that have some sort of FastPass transponder required or automated toll booths that charges a $25 convenience fee before entering the commerce free city. A fast food drive-thru type speaker board can play recorded messages regarding all the usual subjects: seat ...

Take it a step further and replace all the lanterns with solar LEDs and watch the lamplighters revolt.

I’d pay to see that.
Damn, I saw solar lights on sale at Harbor Freight. They could put 4 of them on each pole and let the Lamp Lighters rest at sundown. 8)

Re: Greeter Bypass For Early Entry

Why not make EVERY line an express line? Skip the Greeters and the WWW guide and go screaming off at 10 mph to camp. My guess is everyone (including first timers) will head for an express line. For me, I'll stay in the regular line because no one else will be in it.

Three years back, I was in a hopeless line waiting to get in the gate in my rental car. The line was at least a mile long and 8 lanes across. The car immediately behind me, just by shear playa-dippity, was a camp mate and our unofficial bartender and his wife. We had cups and he had all the drinks w...

Re: Greeter Bypass For Early Entry

I had a 3 hour wait at the gate on Friday. The fun and excitement started in the lines waiting to get into Black Rock City. If there were an "express lane", virtually everyone would be waiting in that line, and all the regular entry lanes would be hardly used. My solution was to leave my hotel 3 hou...

Re: Biggest MOOP in the history of Burning Man

Now that the 747 is safely parked off playa for the winter, it may be a good time to look back on the whole plane art project. This was an incredibly ambitious project that involved a huge amount of people and money. The intent was to bring more and make it bigger and better each year. Like so many ...

Re: Playa-dippity

This year, a photographer with a clearly expensive camera came into our camp. He said he photographs camp architecture for a book he's working on. He had a very unusual, laser cut necklace with the Burning Man logo cut out of it. I asked him about it. Did he remember when, where under what circumsta...

Playa-dippity

So many unexplainable things happen in BRC and it's called playa-dippity. A few years back, we picked up a random woman walking out in the deep playa and gave her a lift on our camp art car. She was trying desperately to find a friend of hers. Her friend was from Atlanta and she told me her name. By...

Did they pull it out yet? that's what she said

Looks like rain on the playa this Thursday, otherwise known as welding an aircraft to a desert.
I've seen one post of FB that the plane is on private property.
I wonder if anyone has a first or secondhand update on the 747 extraction status.

Re: After action report from One Wheelers on the Playa?

So here's a question; is it 5 mph for EVERYONE on a motorized vehicle? I see org people tearing around all the time in carts whether on open playa or city streets, and when you yell at them to slow down they give a fuck off stare and go faster. Are they exempt or just doing it because they can? I s...

Re: After action report from One Wheelers on the Playa?

Speed limit is important while driving especially at night with an artcar or MV. Some many darktards 8) in black clothing either walking or just sitting in a dark part of the playa. I offered a string of lights to three idiots walking in the dark, and they seemed hell bent on staying dark. On a bike...
