Re: Towing with a UHaul moving truck or van?

A 15 passenger van starts to get full pretty quickly with tents, shade, kitchen/cooking gear, coolers, luggage, food, bikes etc. Hopefully there's a roof rack on the van to put at least the 5 bikes. I figure on 3 gallons of water/day/person. Each additional person adds weight of water and supplies, ...

Re: Towing with a UHaul moving truck or van?

If your own vehicle is available to take, you would be much better off bringing that. You're going to have to clean a rental truck anyway, so you may as well prepare your family van with plastic on the rugs and seats. What you save in paying for a rental could even be used to detail your own car whe...

Re: I'm back, planning on burn #3 in 2019

Welcome back. We knew you couldn't stay away. Things have changed a bit on the playa. Interactivity and participation are a bit more of a struggle, smart phones and being engrossed in texting seems to be on the rise. Kind of like going to a busy shopping mall. Aside from that, everything is the same...

Re: Burning Man fails 'Leave No Trace' inspection, has to go back to Black Rock Desert for more cleanup

yet again we see an example of how we can't trust the media......and still, it can be said, if a person wants to believe what the media says, it's "news", if they don't, it's "fake news"......never really knowing the whole, or often even true, story... Could Dan Love have colluded with Jenny Kane? ...

I firmly believe DA over anything published in the Reno Gazette Journal. I don't think anyone who writes for the paper has ever been to Burning Man. Most stories appear to be based on rumors.

Re: Not Going to Burning Man at Burning Man

I guess when you come back year after year, things become routine. I may or may not stop at the Empire Store when passing by. The heart pounding excitement of entering Black Rock City is diminished a bit. The past few years, I found myself setting up our camp and never looked out to the street. All ...

My guess is that these accounts are set up by individuals who make just pennies for each post. I wonder if there could be an email confirmation required before the first post is allowed. Spam posts have their email address banned as well, so it would require a new email account to be set up for each...

Welcome. Cape Cod eh? It's wonderful this time of year. What part of the cape are you on? The drive to Black Rock City will be 5 days or more if you're by yourself. You can fly out of Logan and be in Reno by noon the same day. Pack what you can in two suit cases and you can ship things on the burner...

I'm new at this, Another thing that's recommended for first timers, is to come to the playa to see and enjoy all it has to offer. Bring an open mind and a spirit of adventure. Prepare for things by reading up, then make the journey. Once you get a feel and a lay of the land, then you will have insp...

I'm a person who has a Boston accent so thick you could cut it with a knife. I find the county music so twangy and painful to listen to, but gulped my way through Dinks Binkly's song. Once is enough. I sure hope Dinks doesn't make an appearance on the playa for Burning Man 2019 like Alan Parson's di...

Re: Biggest MOOP in the history of Burning Man

I think there is some misguided expectation that art cars and mutant vehicles are built specifically for the public to climb on and ride. There is a finesse and tact to working your way onto an MV. The only public part of these privately owned vehicles is to look at and be entertained by the awesome...
