This will be my second and my wife's first burn. We'd be coming from Virginia so if you have some people already headed out from here that might work for us. We haven't made any solid plans yet though.
I was stationed at Dugway Proving Grounds, UT (1988-1991) and LOVE the desert...

I suppose a lot of younger kid DJ's are pretty caught up in themselves and forget that the whole purpose of being a DJ is the play for the crowd and not just for themselves. That ALSO means being courteous to those who are trying to enjoy something else entirely. I frequently attend a small private ...

Okay, I can understand that there seem to be a LOT of DJ's attracted to the burn (me included) and a lot of them seem very focused on dj'ing but I don't think that's really the case as much as people think. Though I haven't been to Burning Man before this year (virgin flesh here) I can tell you that...

Man, I wish I'd thought of something like that when I was in grad school for my MBA. I could have done a paper on living in a gifting economic model with no marketing or capitalism. I doubt the data would have been particularly useful however. Capital investiment = significant Return on invest = $0 ...

I'm still a virgin (but with tickets for 2009 in hand). I guess I can't see traveling 3000 miles to an event without a ticket in hand. Plus I heard that sneaking in would result in my mortal soul being banished to the lowest levels of hell for an eternity of suffering or by 5 years living in Utah, a...

I was originally thinking RV for my first burn this year, but my experience from previous festivals and what I have read here really say its not necessary. My buddy and I are planning to fly from Virginia to Reno, rent an SUV and then head to Wal-Mart (though I hate them) for a tent, sleeping bags, ...

Another DJ looking for a camp/stage...???
Yes, that's right. I'll be traveling with a friend (we're both DJ's) and looking for a camp and even better a stage. I'm just a DJ but he's a producer and we'll be playing all original tracks from him an others on our record label (Medium Music - www.medium-music.com) We'll have plenty of gear, mixe...

Our setup would plug into any type of amplified sound system, even a basic home stereo setup works in a pinch. Amplifiers are way too heavy to bring on an airplane or we'd bring more gear. Anything with a standard RCA input can work for a DJ that has proper DJ gear with them. We usually carry a LOT ...

Two house DJ's from Virginia. We pretty much play for the mood, but stick to progressive house, trance,.... Anthony Paul has played Ibiza, D.C., Florida, NY, we have similar styles. He's a great producer. Check out his recent track (soon to be released on our label (Medium Music). We will be playing...

Thanks for the tip on the sand. Yikes. We're looking at making reservations for a camper, pretty pricey really, but I guess you have to spend money to make money (or in this case to be able to fly 3/4 of the way across the country, drive a few hundred miles and then give away tons of stuff as gifts ...

Yeah, my friend and I (both) dj's will be brining CD decks, mixers, and a MAudio MIDI controller but no sound gear. You're welcome to use our equipment but we're still looking for a stage... Ah, so its not about the destination, its about the journey? Just goes to show you can't plan to have fun or adventure, its something that happens along the way if you're smart and lucky enough to let it happen. Well, I've learned that all you can do is make a plan and then after its set into motion, who knows what will actually happen, so many people miss out on the best things in an effort to stick with the "plan". I'm already learning that BM is more than and different than and exactly like what I might ...

New Burner... Excitied!
Been planning to attend BM for about 3 years. Finally I'm not dating some psycho chick, so here I come, and my best bud is coming too! We're both dj's into house, techno, trance, dance music. Hoping we can find a camp where we can plug into a sound system. We're planning to bring decks, mixers and t...
