Re: Boycott Empire Store, They sell burners bad gas
My friend showed me a picture of her Burner friend pissing in the gas tank of an RV belonging to neighbours that annoyed him this year. Just saying. jesus, i *really* think that is the *wrong* kind of thing to do at this event. seriously?! like a couple of pints of piss would have any effect at all...

mmmm, EMP bomb...some seeing eye wrote:It would be a very interesting tradition if all amplified sound in the city was turned off for the temple burn. It would be a reminder throughout the city of the moment, really just an hour or two.

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
Well, after re-reading JRS, and the forum here, I did what any non-gambler would do in this situation. All ahead STOP. I just went to the work-shop and ...turned off the lights. I will not invest any more time or money into something I may or may not "win" a chance to go to. I drive 6000 miles roun...

Drop by your local credit union and get a prepaid gift card for the amount your going to pay for your ticket. Don't even need a credit check, it's backed by cash.moonrise wrote:I don't use credit cards, LLC will you allow a relative or freind of mine to enter your proposed lottery with their credit card?

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
Caliban, if you read back a bit there's someone in there reporting that they know for a fact that only one of the organizers reads these threads and then not very often. Whether that's true or not if I was in their position I'd direct people to somewhere they could vent and let them get on with it ...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
Seriously - Under the old system it took months to sell out. I'm unsure how you think it was certain to sell out in 1 or 2 days after that. Because last year was so stressful and messy, everyone (acting under the assumption of the same system for 2012) was planning to be ready to hit the server and...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
It's all very well posting on a forum that we know no one organizing the thing is ever going to read. We need to come together and voice our concerns in an effective way and get them to reconsider. How do we do that? Write a letter? Print out the forum to paper and mail it to them? Oh, right, there...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
Okay, and the powers-that-be, here's another consideration: Last year, I bought my ticket early, then bought one for a friend later on. I could not buy two at once. It sounds like from the "two week registration" that I could only buy one time? So if I can afford one ticket in February and one in J...

Re: PLEASE HELP?! Art Car Needs Tow From SF<->BRC
I posted a reply to this in another forum, on another site, and did not hear back from the original poster. I'm driving from SF to BRC around August 21st. I have a tow vehicle and may be able to help. I need size and weight specs for the the load before we can really even talk too much about it, but...

Gift Scooter
Hello! We have a scooter, about eight years old, that we would like to gift rather than recycle. The scooter was in an accident. It's not too terrible, but it has NO TITLE and can not be licensed for the road. It's a Chinese made scooter, and as such isn't the best build quality. It's a 50cc. It's a...

BTW
I'm only speaking as a local loudmouth, not for BMIR or something. I knew all about pulsing (even though I got to drive out the back way, 25 minutes to Gerlach!) long before I left home to go to BRC 2010.

Didn't know what pulsing is?
RTFM, people. The plan for pulsing traffic was discussed in JRS email messages before the event, as well as on the piece of paper news thing that was handed to EVERY PERSON who entered BRC. It was also discussed a little during the week on the radio, as a courtesy. If you didn't know what pulsing wa...

I'm inclined to agree. I've been one of those massively interactive Esplanade camps, with rides, refreshing adult beverages, games, activities. And I've been in a camp that barely made Esplanade when all those dead camps were sprawling around in some great locations. I have a memory of on camp that ...

sleeper
for me, a village is a group with diverse individual camps and activities. i've been a part of ones like this from the beginning. sounds like a sleeper camp can be something big an intense, like some of the massive rave camps. out front it's amazing but behind it it's 1-2 full blocks of backstage ho...

the only thing i don't like about geocaching is the power mad people who control the site and therefore the whole sport. all the business of cache maintenance and visiting it enough times is bullshit. i've had my caches denied with weak excuses and i'm pretty certain that i'm dealing with biased, bi...

good advice here. and you hardly need to lie, but you also don't need to tell them where you're going. "we're moving to south lake tahoe" is good enough for me, and it covers informing them you're going out of state. if you're bay area, stop at the 49er truck stop and pay for a truck wash. they do t...

showing up with a sound system and no plan is fucking awesome. cruise around, meet people, and ask around for stories of people in need of a sound system. you'll be heroes! also, setting up renegade paries out in open playa is super cool too. plan to do *maybe* three parties. pick a spot out on open...

Seeking Burning Man logo graphics
Hi! I have a project and need the Burning Man logo. Ideally one with arms up, one with arms down. Just the very basic but good looking one, without the circle around it. I'm a musician and suck with graphics! This is for a vinyl cut sticker project to gift in BRC this year and probably future years.
