Artery have confirmed at 1.35 & 3500' (so basically where D street would go out onto the playa). Similar location to last year.

Any idea of where you will be setting up? daisymaybee Hi Daisymaybee! Thanks for the offer to help and especially an impact driver! Our crew will all enter BRC on the 24th, although probably at quite staggered times. The plan is to start build in earnest on Friday 25th at dawn. So Thursday is mainl...

Re: Cheese Maze 2.0

Just a bump about my last post. If you would like to come in early (24th) and help with this project I currently have a spare couple of early arrival passes (or now the more appropriately named Work Access Pass)) for this as a couple of people have had to pull out. If you've never been in early or h...

Camping cooking equipment rental in Reno?

Hi, Long-time burner here but 1st time to BRC this year without an RV. From overseas so looking to source some basic camping equipment to rent, cooker & gas at a minimum but if they do a package with pots, plates, etc, great. Really want to avoid buying and then having to work out where it goes ...

Re: Getting to Burning Man from Europe = mission impossible?

Firstly, welcome & congrats on now getting tickets so quickly - well done! I appreciate there was probably some fairly understandable emotions going on before you got the tickets, but let me pick up on one thing: Now that I realise that buying a plane ticket and hiring an RV before you have an e...

Re: Designated Group Sale: How does a virgin group access DGS?

Hiya. I'm a London-based burner. This will be my 7th Nevada burn this year. 1st year I brought a large art project (mad, I know, especially coming from overseas). I've brought large art for 6 out of 7 of them. In 2012 (where it all went a bit tricky with tickets for the 1st time, lottery, etc), I go...

You might want to either update the name of this thread to reflect the price will be lower? Or maybe just start a new one? Or just wait and see what happens.

Re: Cheese Maze 2.0

Hi, If you already have a ticket and are looking for an art project to help build on, I might be able to take a couple more volunteers for this maze project. Looking for people to come in on Thurs 24th with a view to starting working at dawn on the 25th. Idea is to be done by end of 26th, although m...

Re: Two face value $1200 tickets and vehicle pass

Just thought I'd chime in here. I can totally vouch that Dusty_Lauren isn't trying to game the system and just the victim of some terrible timing. I'm the one who managed to get her a pair of regular tickets to help me build an art project this year. Just wish I'd been able to do that a few days ear...

Cheese Maze 2.0

Hi all. If you liked our Cheese Maze 2.0 in 2016 you'll be pleased to know we're bringing another version back for 2017. Same basic idea and construction, just a different (even harder!?) layout. If anyone wants to come in early and help with build then feel free to contact me. Pretty simple stuff w...

That'll be on Sunday afternoon, whenever we've finished strike (always a bit of a lottery after burn night!)

Either at maze or at Cheese Camp.

But if you're after a wine & cheese party Cirque du Formage (sp) do an amazing one, if they're around this year.

Re: Cheese Maze 2016

Aw, thanks guys! This one's a bit different to 2012. On the one hand it's going to be bigger & harder to solve (glurk!). On the other hand it's more minimalist in construction and you can see right through it and get out easier. We don't have the moving doors this time but we DO have 30 bridges ...

I've posted about this in the share resources too but might as well add here: I'm looking to see if there any other artists or camps going from Reno early who might have space for our stuff, rather than hire a van for what is a relatively small size. It would HAVE to be on playa by some time on Wed ...

Re: Cheese Maze 2016

maze2016.JPG is our fiendish final design! The shaded squares are bridges over a tunnel. You go over the bridge so that you're crossing OVER the lines in that cell. If you're going ALONG the shaded lines then you're going under the bridge. The dotted red lines represent the wall on top of the bridg...

Re: Cheese Maze 2016

If you recall last year's wood maze at the Man base, there were clearly marked quick release exit panels in various locations. ESD folks were walked through the maze and made familiar with the emergency exits. My only suggestion? They should have put a porto inside since disoriented souls with a bl...

Re: Cheese Maze 2016

I'm glad you guys have always been mindful of emergency exits. Part of the fun of a maze is a "trapped" feeling, but if that suddenly becomes overwhelming, not-fun, or dangerous, it's good to know a participant can flee. Yeah, part of me was a bit bummed when I realised they were a good i...

Re: Cheese Maze 2016

You guys may want to consider using rope or something thicker and heavier than string. That would make it easier for participants to see (some of them may be impaired in some way), and suitably rugged for the environment. For the 2012 maze we used some tough high-vis cord (2-3mm) for the emergency ...

I dare say we're going to see a lot of chatter on here & social media afterwards about when people got in the waiting room and when/if they got through to the actual sale. Hopefully we'll be seeing as much evidence that folks at 11:45:00 and 12:04:59 got served equally quickly. :D
