Re: North Pole Party Shade
I agree it looks like it's back. I wonder if they made any improvements or... Anyway, at last year's burn I stayed until the Friday after The Man burnt. Thursday night there was a crazy-wild storm that took down my NorthPole by shattering that darned plastic piece. It had survived 4 burns and severa...

ANNOUNCE: New Eugene (Oregon) Burners group on Facebook
For a while I've been wondering for years why so many cities/towns bigger and smaller than Eugene have cohesive Burner groups with Burner get-togethers and yet Eugene only seems to have Burner groups based on camps and existing circles of friends. I quit the wondering and created a Eugene Burners gr...

Re: Electrolyte drinks
On the playa we don't need electrolytes in drinks for nutritional value unless you aren't eating. The salt in our common playa foods provides plenty of sodium and other electrolytes to fulfill our bodies nutritional needs. The reason to have a weak electrolyte and sugar drink versus either water or ...

Re: North Pole Party Shade
[quote="tamarakay"]We have found it is easier to just not bother with the center pole until after you have stretched and "loosely" pounded in the stakes. Measure from stake to stake at it's most stretched, lay the tent out (you can go ahead and attach the tent to the pole, just keep it laying flat) ...

Re: North Pole Party Shade
We love our North Pole Party Shade. This year will be its third year at BRC and we've taken it out to several other sumer festivals over these years. It's holding up great. All I've had to do is sew up a few tears in the screening and put Tri-Flow on all the zippers in-between burns. I use rebar for...

After doing the air mattress thing a few years (blowing more air into it every day or two) and then one year having it go completely flat with a hole that didn't want to stay patched I finally got a couple Therm-a-Rest self inflating air mattresses and these things f*#&-ing rock! They are now a fest...

How tall is the usable space in this tent? I see that the center hieght is 12 ft, but how close to the side can I put a 6 ft high tent. Can I fit 2 6 ft high tents underneath? I think 2 6' high tents will fit without trouble, but a lot depends on the actual size of the tents. Corner-to-center dista...

Taping seams??? So now my only question is it it worth cost/effort to use professional gaffers tape (permacel 672) over the main vertical seams. The seams are double stitched and look strong, but I don't know if they are playa-strong. I'd be looking at ~$50 for the tape. So really, my question is ho...

Bought myself one of these a few days ago on eBay for $108 with free shipping. 10 left here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400059398082 . Found it on my doorstep today. Now it is set up in my front yard. Took me and one person about 15 minutes to get it up. It is a bit big for my...
