Re: Batch Cooking

After seven years of cooking fresh food and dealing with gallons of grey water from washing dishes, I am done. I have access to a food saver and I am looking at 8 inch or 11 inch rolls (food grade - no BPA, for sure). Any recommendations? Planning on buying some of my favorite take out (noodle dish...

Re: Discuss Philosophical Ticketing Policy - Was Lone Ticketing Genius

While it's true that it's hard to stop people from entering multiple sales, why not exclude the pre-sale from the main sale? I wonder how much the org really checks all those cards and profiles anyway. A PnP proponent told me he buys as many as he wants/needs without any trouble. :? And why not enac...

Call Cool Neon in Oakland. They might be able to throw what you want to together pretty easily, though it may not be cheap.

Re: 2016 Moop Map

After thinking about it some more, I am going to guess that those are placed support camps with no names... for art projects, volunteer groups, etc. They have to request placement like everyone else if they want to be closer to the center. We have actually done that on a couple of years when we ste...

I wouldn't put them in the #1 spot but they were asshats. Shine Camp at 4:25 and H. Directly across from us. They got plascement by promising an open bar, (which isn't enough these days), and an event where you make your own copper pendants. 1. Bar day serving moonshine with the worst music on the ...

Re: 2016 Moop Map

Two years ago, maybe three, I don't know - they blend, some a holes left a 3 gallon pee jug in the middle of the block. It looked like they may have funneled shit into it too, it was black/brown, disgusting. I walked past it multiple times and the thought of taking it never entered my mind. Sorry. N...

Re: Litterati Says We Done Better This Year.....

I saw a note on the facebooks that some very nice Reno-ites went out the following weekend and loaded an entire pick up truck bed with moop from the hwy. Not sure if they did this more than once, but even one trip would be helpful.

I recommend flying in a day or two early. This will give you some extra time to shop/pack and prepare in Reno instead of rushing in on a bus. Maybe rent a car for day and find a friend to shop with (always funner with friends!). If course this is dependent on being able to take the extra days off wo...

I see where I was at 5:10 and K. Behind me was a Large RV with an outdoor shower on L with a big evap pond. They got the yellow rectangle. There was a jerk with a bus toward 5:00 that played loud music, fancied himself a DJ, and was always scraping his grill out onto the playa, he is the other yell...

Re: Rebar/stake questions

The playa was so forgiving this year you could pull your rebar out with ease. I guess not where I was camped (5:15 J). Monday on a walk to the JOTS I came across a man using all his energy to pound rebar in every direction to get it loose. I asked if he had vice grips, he sheepishly told me "n...

I haven't bought anything yet for next year, but I am compiling quite a list: a small propane fire pit ...

Re: Playa Nose? Prevention and tips?

I usually just use a silk scarf or handkerchief for dust abatement for my face during the burn. Well this year my nose was not having it. It was very dry and hurt like no other year. Even saline spray didn't help. A campmate brought some paper filters and I grabbed a few to try on a whim. Though my ...

So sorry you were subjected to such bullshit. Glad to hear the rest of the burn was enjoyable.

Lost one pair of Dyce sport black framed goggles with light blue lenses and sunglass arms (not a strap and probably how they fell off!) at the Temple Burn Sunday night. My favorites :(

Thanks.

Hi all! This will be my first trip to Burning Man :P I'm coming with my significant other, and we'll be bringing a white cargo van. Re: Batch Cooking

I've done both over the years, no issues (though I personally prefer not to freeze if I can avoid it). Your mileage may vary, but for us custom-making each bag was kind of a pain, especially as we found that most single serving stuff easily fits in a pint bag. I'm sure some food doesn't hold up wel...

Look for anything that bills itself as foodsaver compatible, they should all be food grade and BPA free (that's been what I've found). We have both sizes of rolls, but lately we've been preferring the pre-made bags with a zipper. They generally come in pint, quart, and gallon sizes. I like having t...

Well, with 25,000 tickets going to theme camps I can see why it's shifting in that direction. I heard that up to 50% of this year's tickets went to out of US buyers. I have no idea if this is true, but it seems likely, due to the huge amount of people posting looking for camps. It's happening in al...
