Re: New Vehicle with no license plates

A few years back I bought a used van. The auto dealer put one of their ads over the plate and I had the paper reg taped in the window. I found out later that the plate had expired months before but of course it didn't matter because I had paid the reg to the dealer when I bought it. Fast forward 3 ...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...

I used mule tape with a water knot to form a loop, and then I put the loop through itself around the lag screw which would tighten down to form a loop I could tie off to. So it's basically just replacing the chain, and then I tie down to the mule tape loop. This way you can also re-tighten easily w...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...

Nice, but pricey. I do the mule-tape, water knot and flat washer method. And that site looks cheaper than Amazon. Is the water knot more secure than a square? I did a test run of my shade mule tape this weekend, and I am not feeling confident at all with mule loops. Thinking about running out to HD...

Other than a few items of fresh food, I'm done buying anything more. Seriously. Change my Amazon password.
OMG. Can you change mine too? It's like christmas every day. I come home and there are packages galore! This has to stop! (after the next order, because I NEED things!!!).

Re: 2018 One item a day for BM list

Friday I spent one hour and 46 minutes at the DMV to get my tags that expire on 8/31/18. When I told the supervisor that I couldn't register online or at a kiosk, she had to check herself. Finally let me stand in a loooooong line to get my tags. No idea why my registration was flagged, but it was. Y...

After searching for a good priced canvas drop cloth, I found used billboard vinyl and I am going with that for the public spaces. I don't think it will be as light as canvas, but I hope it lasts a few years!

Re: What is your floor?

I just ordered a big piece of used billboard vinyl that I can cut into two pieces to use in our public spaces (two 10x20 carports). It was much cheaper to buy one long piece and then cut it. But my question is this: Do I need grommets? Or should I duct tape all the edges? I don't want it to fray and...

I have a ticket but I have friends of course looking that were not able to get a DGS code, missed out in the main sale and OMG sale. They are not able to afford the presales. I am finding fewer $425 tickets overall - all the people reselling have keyed in on the fact that you don't really know if it...

Yay. Heater and air conditioner fixed in my van. It broke because of excessive dust in the blower motor. How did that happen? Sewing like crazy to fix shade structure decor. Next up....Playa laundry. I can't be the only one that unpacks a bin of playa. I just fixed my van AC for the third time. Fir...

The more we facilitate people being able to attend and not take care of their own shit, the more of this we create. Why the hell do people choose to fly to an event unable to carry in and out all their shit, to an event where that’s what you need to do? It's a fabulous question. I think the cat is ...

Re: Camping cooking equipment rental in Reno?

I think things that go to the playa generally are only used again on the playa, so you won't find many that want to send camping gear out there. That being said - maybe playa pads has something? might be overkill for your needs, but they do have a basic set up.

Re: Reselling or donating camping equipment?

Check out playa pads. A search on google will pull it up. Burners with an outfit in Reno that rents the basics. Looks like it all fits in a standard sized rental. Includes bikes. I think this could be a great option for you. They take the stuff back after you've used it and recycle it for another bu...

Little Jack. Go to Golden State Lumber in Newark. (That's near you, right?) they will order lag screws in any size. Very cheap too. In fact they have 12" ones in the store. I just got my 16 " ones for $1.50 each. Dang. Golden State is too far from me. I am going to see if my local lumber place will...

I see mule tape used on this thread, but I am not by any means a knot expert. I don't want to leave to chance (or lack of knowledge) the ability to safely secure my big ass shade. Chain is great but takes a hella lotta time, tools, and money Mule tape is stronger than some of the chain that can fit...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...

Questions: I've been told I need "foot pads." The Black Rock Hardware posts were designed to not need foot pads. However, even if the head of the lag screw can fit into the pipe, you would lose the holding power of a 16" lag screw as about 5" of it would be above ground. Therefore, your question ab...

Re: dgs ticketing minimum purchase question

My opinion is that your camp was allocated a DGS which gives you the code to buy two tickets and vehicle sticker. That is what you should do. We received a few codes and one of our campers will be selling the second ticket to a campmate. That is how we are covering all our peeps. We don't see it as ...

While it's true that it's hard to stop people from entering multiple sales, why not exclude the pre-sale from the main sale?
