It's a good thing that there's only one thing going on at a time at Burning Man. Otherwise the whole event could get really crazy. This way you can plan out your entire burn before you even leave home! Hooray!
I don't have much to offer for your setup, though. Good luck.

Suggested large vehicle travel route from Portland
hey. We are heading out of Portland, and I was curious if anyone who has traveled from there with a large vehicle has any recommendations on route. We will be in a school bus hauling a trailer and fairly weighted down so I'd rather avoid hills as much as possible. I expect not do about 25 heading up...

haha. Love the bowling ball idea. Also, good point on bolt cutters. I would never have thought of that, but I have a 4' I can bring. That thing can cut through pretty much anything. Also, we'll take people's advice and not bring cups. We expect a fair amount of traffic since we are right on the espl...

Well said, Igneouss. I tend to agree that the BMORG is looking for something unique. They particularly like themed camps. There's a huge difference between a dance floor, and a dance floor in a jungle. I'd like to add that it's probably safe to assume city creation goes something like this: 1. Creat...
If I am not mistaken we brought: 40 Gallons - Moonshine 100 Gallons - Misc Hard Liquor 6-10 - Kegs of Beer A shit-ton of mixers
Wow, BitterDan, that's a lot more than we were planning. How many hours a day were you open? How much do you think you might have gone through in...

Some great info here. Thanks for the responses. We aren't actually a "bar camp", but a fairly large forest(ish) themed camp with a 60 foot dome, music, misters, etc.. Last year we were on 'A' and we had a couple big dance parties with open bars but I don't think we kept track of how much alcohol we ...

haha. I didn't say we were reasonable, by any means. Definitely a few of our members have put in a tremendous amount of personal resources, both time and money. We have several engineers, and people generally good at making things, so a lot of the stuff we've made from scratch, which has helped a bi...

What to expect when running an open bar
Hey, I was hoping to get some info from camps that have run open bars in high traffic areas on what to expect, mostly in terms of alcohol consumption. How many gallons a day of liquor do you plan for? Beer? Mixers? Cups? Ice? Anything else worth imparting?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It's probably NOT that easy to figure out when it comes to actual placement, but it should answer your question about why there's a bias against "theme" camps that are 85% residential.
Right. Being a theme camp isn't about camping, it's about creating something. Nearly every me...

I think that what they are trying to avoid is having the inner eschelon of BRC becoming a tent-zilla. I feel for all of the people who didn't get placed and I understand that there are probably many legitimate camps who weren't able to make it in that would have helped bring up the general awesomene...
