Re: OK so what the hell did I miss (the good old days)?
You missed Bianca's Smut Shack. You Missed Draka the Dragon. You missed tagged cameras. You missed solar showers on the playa. You missed motorcycles and scooters. You missed when an art car was a 69 chevy pickup with a few streamers. You missed when cops drove around in cars with the windows up. Yo...

Re: Is theft common?
I stopped going to the Burn and now stay behind to guard my camp and all my neighbor's camps too. I came back to my camp in 2003 after the burn and my generator was staged by the street for pickup by a thief. They are out there and are probably casing camps all week. Lock up your stuff. Beware the B...

Re: Volunteerism Decline Discussion
I have been to the playa 10 times and never volunteered for BMORG. I volunteer for myself instead. Last time I gave out 300 servings of jahl muri at the man over 6 nights. It cost me $2000 for the privilege and was one of the most personally fulfilling things I have ever accomplished. I'm going to d...

Re: How to spot undercover cops?
In "the old days" the cops rolled around in SUVs with windows up and AC blasting. Now they are on foot, on ATVs, on golf carts, driving with windows down, looking with nightvision on the playa at night, and they will catch you if you are stupid.
Don't be stupid.
Don't be stupid.

Re: Do YOU bring an "i" device 2 the playa?
In 2009 I saw this chick walking down the street on her phone and thought "HA! Funny art project." Then I turned on my phone for a pic and saw bars. I could not believe my fucking eyes and turned it off. I just bought a $85 camera so my phone can stay OFF. Burn as you want to burn but my phone is off.

Re: What's in your backpack?
Sandbags. Empty ones. Canvas.
Great gift. Can be used as burn bag for burnable trash. Can be used for wet food bag to dry it all out. Can be used as a sand bag to hold shit down.
I give out 5 a day. From my panniers. What is a backpack?

I find that heating up food in a microwave gives me the most choices. Frozen pizzas early in week. Indian food and rice later in week. Hot food anytime. Just a pull on the gennie away. I always bring the Coleman multi-Fuel for back up. Needed it all week in 2009.

How do onions hold up out there? Red Onion would really make my dish pop. I sure could use a bag if it won't turn to soup by Thursday.

Re: Let's play Hide the Generator
In 2004, I came back to my camp after the burn and my generator had been "staged" for theft. It was put out by the edge of the road so the thief could come back later. I waited in the dark for about 30 minutes. No dice. Now I chain it to my rig. No real attempt to hide. Just not in a promi...

Just lock up your damn bikes and no one has to ever lose one again. Easy huh? I stopped bringing a bike in 2004. If I can't walk there or get a ride, screw it.
