Re: Evap Cooler: wicking fed in recent post?

Yeah, it looks like that, but it wasn't paper, it was some sort of yellowish beige synthetic. And thinner. Looks a lot like the drawn illustration in the lower left corner of that linked web page.

sort of. I'm figuring on keeping the coolers outside the cooled structures to maximize their efficiency, cold air ducted in, but then again you get direct sun on your cooler which can screw up the process.

last year, chuck made this awesome swamp cooler that used no drip system at all, just a superefficient wicking material set with it's bottom end in a reservoir of water. The wicking membrane was something from a humidifier. It wicked well enough that the water drew up into the membrane on its own. I...

I have found camo net not heavy enough. Lets too much sun in. Maybe doubled or tripled would work. I have used a bunch of camo net as my dome skin, and always had to layer it with something else to be effective against the sun. Upgrading this year. Hopefully.

Hmmmmm.... @southcoaster: Ok from what I know, fridges pull a fair amount of power. I think for a mini fridge something like 150-200w, for a fullsize fridge something like 400-500w. That's a lot for pulling off a battery. A lot. So if you have to run that all the time, your best bet might be either ...
