I've got whiskey, rum, vodka and mixers, along with some mean hot dogs....or even steak to trade for this experience.

As stated before, Incendiary Intent will be at 4:30 & Anniversary (appx address). Look for the 12' tall flaming sign and stop by for some extremely unique drinks throughout the week.

Re: Tips for Shy People at Burning Man
best tip i can give for shy people at BM (myself included):
Go attend some events that are listed in the WWW (What, When, Where). These events usually have folks that encourage participation and interaction amongst the other people there. Its low key, and minimal effort to meet like minded people.

contact the folks that made the Tac-C installation in inner playa. I don't know if this particular vehicle is one of their's, but they had about 5 or 6 on display one night out there.

I had a great conversation with 2 BLM rangers tuesday night on top of Mal-Mart. One of them was former Secret Service, and the other was an ex Seal. We discussed, among other things, the notion that they really don't want to have to do their job (aka, arresting people). They are there to experience ...

Exodus pulsing was being done on monday (official exodus day) morning. It started at about 9 or 10am, but should have started much earlier. Once the pulsing started, it was a really good system. No overheating engines, no wasting gas while inching forward, and some good time to hang out and share pl...

a little breakdown of the various V5F models in regards to playa use: Classic: Open on the top from the metatarsal area on back. Tightening is done via a draw string at the back (cord cinches around the opening on top) Pros: Most minimalistic. light weight. Least amount of heat buildup. Open air. Co...

I've used hot glue to attach EL-wire to my goggles the past couple years and always find that the heat out on the playa softens the glue beyond my liking. I just keep forgetting to get something better till its too late (aka the night before i leave. its hit or miss with that stuff, but if you have ...

Yes, 4 season tents will be hot in the daytime, but then again if you are covering all the mesh panels on a regular tent it's the same issue. Anyone wanting some good 1on1 advice for gear that is in the SF bay area, feel free to stop by the REI in San Carlos and talk to me (Jeremy). I'm there most d...

I work at REI, and i would suggest that you return the hobitat tent you bought and consider getting one of the "4 season" tents. As stated already, the hobitat tent will require some pretty hefty sealing of the mesh panels. With the design of the tent being a basic cube, it is already horrible in hi...

Never put anything but plain water in any bladder from Camelback, Nalgene, or MSR. All of these brands use an antimicrobial coating on the inside of the bladder to reduce bacteria growth. Just about everything besides H2O will break down that chemical coating, leaving you to ingest it. While this is...
