Re: Anyone know of goth/industrial music on playa this year?

Thanks, did stop by Planet Earth one night when you were doing 8pm-midnight but it was sparsely attended and the sound system and music was kinda odd, so we rolled off in search of other adventures. Thanks for being there though! It was good to have a starting point destination. :)

Anyone know of goth/industrial music on playa this year?

I'm not one for going out to music-based stuff, but I love me some industrial music. Goth, industrial, darkwave, I don't care. Something besides EDM. Know of any camps where I'd be likely to find it? I'm poking through the Rockstar Librarian but I don't know what KIND of music these people are playi...

I've got my dirndl ready to go! Who's down for wearing one, or some lederhosen if you're a dude?

Makes perfect sense with the theme. C'mon!

I'm hoping to see lots of GilliganTech/bamboopunk this year. It's sort of cargo-culty..... CLOSE ENOUGH. BAMBOOPUNK IS THE NEW STEAMPUNK. You heard it here first, friends. Hey, maybe this is what I'll finally turn my golf cart into for this year: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/diecast_cars/G...

Re: Golf carts at BM. any suggestions, tips, absolute no-no'

Gas motor--not electric. All golf carts have the same key. (Okay, I"m not sure about gas carts, all electric ones do.) Have some sort of theft/joy ride prevention system in place when you get there. Seconded. I used a flexible cable lock through the steering wheel & around the center armrest of my ...

Re: Just bought a crazy golf cart: what should I turn it int

Your Yammi may or may not need a dust snorkel. I'd have a good mechanic (preferably one familiar with playa dust) look into the air intake. If the fresh, clean air intake (air box) is in a bad spot, such as pointing down toward the playa, then this could be the year to have a dust snorkel installed...

Re: Where's the best place to rent a trailer for golf cart?

A golf cart will fit in the bed of a fullsize truck, you can close the tailgate if you have a long bed. Oh yeah, you'll need ramps too. You can probably buy one cheaper if you look in the central valley/ sacramento areas. My golf cart is 8 and a half feet long. Someone is towing it for me behind a ...

Where's the best place to rent a trailer for golf cart? (SF)

Hi- I'm trying to figure out how to get my golf cart up to Burning Man. Does anyone know of a good place to rent a utility trailer around the SF Bay Area? I can't seem to find a decent one to buy that's under like....$800+. I need the golf cart up there really early (8/15 or thereabouts), so can't h...

Grand Sierra Resort in Reno trying to fleece Burners...

So Grand Sierra has some pretty nice pool cabanas. They tend to have a post-Burning Man Decompression party, which if you're into thumpy club-kid techno music is ok (but sucks if you want peace and quiet, honestly). Their normal weekday rates for pool cabanas are $100 for an entire day, as published...

I do fine talking to strangers or groups if I am fundraising, advertising, or promoting something because I have something to drive the conversation. Meh, if I had a golf cart, the last thing I would make it into would be a golf cart. But that's just me. Yeah, but nothing else is really calling to me enough to put huge amounts of time (which I totally don't have at the mo), money and effort into making something amazing. I don't do things half-a...

Maybe a fake undercover artcar? Poorly concealed police hardware, hokey 80s drug motif decoration, police radio hidden, but crackling ... Ask riders for 'psychedelics'. Don't accept any. What does a "rich 80's country club guy" look like? Make it look like you just time travelled from the golf course from 1989 and were dropped on the playa. I'd have to cross-dress and wear a polo shirt! And some awesome plaid golf pants. Hee! Actually, that would be funny as shit to actually be dri...

Wow, that Star Trek thing looks remarkably similar to the cart! Funny. That would definitely work, tho I'm not much of a Star Trek fan. Just bought a crazy golf cart: what should I turn it into?

Hi, folks. I just picked up an older gas Yamaha golf cart that looks weird as hell (it looks like it's FROM SPACE) and am puzzled as to what to turn it into. Note: I know the MV registration has passed, I don't need to go through the DMV and will not need to "radically mutate it", but I also don't w...

Please remember also, you don't need to be in the same physical location to adopt or be adopted. It can all happen via email, even. I've adopted virgins in the past, who were across the country. Lots of emails, a care package mailed, etc. :-)

Thanks to everyone who is jumping in and participating!

Gas golf/utility cart: considerations for bringing to playa?

Figured I'd come here for advice. I'm thinking of bringing out a gas golf cart this year, but I don't know much about them.
