What happened to Dana she was sort of on the same lines as me. She was not shot down in flames like me...for pretty much the same point of view. I really dont know why you guys take these things as an insult on you or BM. All I am doing is getting at the bloody facts and raising awareness.

Thanks for your comments CFM... I do not think people are getting the point... I have an issue with the way the playa dust is treated is rather like a nuisance hence the dust masks and bandanas and cloths and whatever to cover mouths and noses that are recommended. Owens lake is a similar playa surface to BM playa and it has been documented...so it makes sense to consider this a case study.

Lets face it - it just not sand is it. I've been through the Sahara and camped on that - no problems. Sand storm no worries - particles are pretty big. No lung damage.

I've read plenty of papers where silicosis can occur after shorter periods of time - like the Hawks Tunnel disaster for example.
