Re: Camp sign: bulb types, power, and charging?
You need a deep cell for sure. Charge during the day off someone's generator, or get a good size solar panel. Last year did an art project and had to charge the deep cell every other day.

Re: Really dumb cooler question
Its dry camping but there is the ice "store" with usually a long line. As far as the cooler goes, open as little for as short of time as possible which is rough as you open it up and see cold beer, keep it on some 2x4 pieces of wood under your car out of the sun and yes it moves across the sky as th...

Re: Illuminating Art in Deep PLaya
Look for solar lights with the biggest little panel and you can upgrade the LiPo batteries. LED strings off a 12v deep cell work as well. Use a baby buggy on a bike to bring it back to camp and charge it off someone's generator.

Re: 12v and LED rope lights
Its coming together, 12v deep cell, loading up a string of LEDs, with a controller for different effects, coupled to a relay that turns on when it gets dark. Have a baby buggy to attach to bike to bring the battery back for a charge hopefully every two days. Lights up a street sign, timbuktu and 133...

They weigh an awful lot. Maybe use it for awhile and then kill it, party, take it home to recharge. Two must be like towing me around and I can entertain that.

outdoor wilderness supply has tons of fabric for camping type use, but it may be too expensive compared to tyvek. For heavy fabric and sewing you need a walking foot sewing machine.

Yea, I had an idea about the same but using white mesh nylon fabric (outdoor wilderness fabric). Shade spot in the day and a light show at night. Lit from underneath. Chairs underneath with a cooler of gatorade and cliff bars and music.

12v and LED rope lights
I have a couple of sets of 16' LED rope lights. 18 and 36 watt. Controllers too. I have them running now with the 117 in and 12v out power supply. I have a deep cell 12v battery from the big box. I want to connect the deep cell to the controllers and I am nervous that with the fat load from the 12v ...

Re: cooling your tent or van
The hard part at the City is that is so hot in the day and so cool at night, right when it cools down you want to go out at night with your lights and trippy attire and hop on art cars and visit the sound camps at each end so you end up going to bed at 4-6am and then go back to camp and sleep, but t...

It will be dry if it does not rain again, and if you are there and it rains, only go out barefoot. Fat tires rock as long as they do not rub your frame, lots of light as its crazy out there

Last year, driving through Bishop, on Saturday late, I decided to sell the moho and not look back.
Then I kept thinking about an art project and the whole thing and I cannot give it up.

A day and night bike I see. Maybe ditch the umbrella idea and wear hat, scarves, goggles during the day and clamp on a pole with LEDs or EL wire for night. Seems like by 11:00am it a bit windy.
