I was just pulling the language from their post. I think it's tongue in cheek.

Felguk at Ultra Music Festival - Miami March 2012 - BAO Dome (YouTube) Ahh I so enjoyed that set! It was great getting down with Matt & his sister over on the right side of the crowd towards the end of the night. Fantastically infectious energy on both their parts! If by some small chance either of...

Re: CAMP MEMBERS WANTED at Playa Bike Transport (9:00 @ Plaz
@ Grey Bear - I've been trying to get in touch with your camp via a couple of methods (google groups and facebook so far). How do we reserve space in the bike transport container? Thanks!

Re: Greetings from NYC!
Thanks for the welcome, guys! @subliminalkick - We're flying out to San Francisco and driving from there. We were able to send our disassembled construction project out via the NYC Container and ship a number of heavy items to a friend in San Fran. Good luck driving from Ohio - that will be quite a ...

Greetings from NYC!
Hey everyone! I've been posting on eplaya for roughly a year and a half (intermittently), but I just realized that I never actually introduced myself. I'll be going to the burn for my second year this year. I came as a virgin last year with my best friend on a mission to discover what this burning m...

Re: Recommended tarp tape?
Thanks for the suggestion, turnip! I looked around briefly and wasn't able to find tesa tape easily accessible in small quantities, but I did find that some 3M extreme bifilament tape is recommended as a equivalent to a good tesa tape option on http://hexayurttape.com/hexayurt-tape-information, so I...

Re: Recommended tarp tape?
The current plan is to tape them to each other and the wood. I am most concerned about the tarp on tarp seams on the outside that will be directly exposed to the sunlight.

Recommended tarp tape?
What tape do you use to attach tarps and other materials together on-playa? A bit of research suggests that bidirectional filament tape or high-temperature duct tape will hold up well in the playa heat, but I haven't found a good comparison between the two. Does anyone have experience to know which ...

Re: Anyone have an extra starplate?
Thanks uglydougly. I wasn't sure about the adhesive or tensile strength of the high temp duct tape, since it's possible that though it wouldn't melt, it might simply not hold up to playa winds. Any experience using it to hold structures together, particularly attaching vinyl to vinyl?

Re: Anyone have an extra starplate?
Thanks again to everybody who offered their suggestions. Since we're trying to be cost efficient, we ended up going with recycled billboard vinyl tarps (pretty heavy, 20 mil) to cover our starpods. The walls are one solid piece, but we cut the triangles for the roofs out so we can pull the roof over...

Looking to share moving truck/cargo van costs from San Fran
I'm coming as part of a group of 4 from NYC through San Francisco to BRC. We are planning to rent a car but need some extra space in someone's van or moving truck to get costumes and other non-essential goodies out to the playa, as we want to be able to bring plenty to gift! Our dome and shade struc...

Re: Anyone have an extra starplate?
Hey Badger, Thanks for the suggestion! It looks like Menards is the way to go. I was able to find someone in IL to offer to go to Menards, so hopefully we'll be all set. If you were just building one, do you have any suggestions for covering them? Our original plan was to use industrial velcro to at...

Anyone have an extra starplate?
In the course of collecting supplies and test building starpods for the playa this past weekend, one of our starplates (http://www.strombergschickens.com/product/starplate-connector-set/aviary-supplies) has been lost. Given that they come in sets of just the right number for a pod, you would think t...

Likely if you run it very much, you'll need to refill every couple days. Any options to refill within BRC or do you need to bring all gas with you? Would some sort of solar panel recharging setup be of any use? Sorry if my questions are obvious once you've been. It's pretty clear that I'm a BM virg...

Throughout this thread, most pro-RVers seem to mention the AC and fridge as a major benefit to brining an RV. As someone with no previous RV experience, I had imagined that running AC even for a few hours a day and keeping the fridge consistently cold would cause problems in terms of having enough g...

My boyfriend and I are coming from NYC. Maybe with a couple of friends, but they may be more interested in talking about it than actually going. We're not going with a theme camp or a large group. If you (or any lurkers reading this) want to set up some kind of meet up in the area, it would be a gre...
