Re: The 2024 Burning Man Bar is open

Drove from Reno to Boise today. Fernley and Winnemucca were pretty quiet. I have 5 days to pack, then I turn around and drive back on Thursday for Friday entry. I've brought my brothers, my wife, and I can't believe I get to do this again, this time with my daughter!

You people are the best!

Re: 24 ticket arrival

No answer to any of my email inquiries...but as of today it has been shipped and should arrive tomorrow. I'm guessing they saw my requests and went "OH SHIT"

Whatever...just happy they'll be here before I leave!

Re: 24 ticket arrival

I'm starting to panic. My ticket status on the website says "Not Shipped". I leave for the playa in 12 days. If they force me to go to will call I'll be really pissed!

I've sent messages to ticketing...nothing yet.

WTF!!!!!

Re: Hello from Boise

I'm a local Boise guy. Been going to the event on and off since 2009. My first advice would be to check into the Xanadu project in Boise. It's a local collective of Burners doing art and great community things. That's what that thing in the desert is really about.

I used a 7K BTU window unit in my old travel trailer the same size. That and a few well placed fans and I was in heaven!

NO YOU DON'T!!!

Get your shit together, show up, find a spot, set up a tent, help out with your neighbors, and explore.

It's really as simple as that!

Re: What's my conspiracy?

I can't even figure out to respond to this. I live here in Boise and get to see it daily. It's a tragedy! A guy I know, who had attended that very event earlier in the day, decided it was a good idea to go to band practice that night with a bunch of people who had been careful to limit their circle ...

What are you building to burn this year?

I've got it in my head to host a BM style party for my friends at my property in Idaho on Labor Day Weekend. Camping, live music, ATV's, rafting and/or kayaking, hot springs. Everyone's being encouraged to bring something to freely share with everyone else. I've already heard some great ideas from f...

Bless you and your family in this tough time. Both my frail, elderly parents are locked down in separate homes, unable to see the people they love. I pray they make it through or pass peacefully like your loved ones!

We are not alone in this!

Re: Speeding in BRC on the playa?

2014 was the last year I attended before finally getting tickets this year. The single biggest change I saw was the increase of e-bikes and scooters (with and without seats). I admit, early in the week I was a bit jealous. Especially after long rides into the wind to return to camp. But as the week ...

A beautiful, young 9 year old boy was lost in a drowning accident on the Feather River. I had the pleasure of being good friends with his father and it has hit me really hard thinking about what agony he must be feeling. I've reached out and donated to the fundraising account, but it never feels lik...

Re: Hitch extender for bike rack AND trailer?

I haven't used that before but my only concern would be restricting your turning radius. I imagine two bikes parallel to the back of your truck sticking out and over a bit of the trailer tongue. In tight turns your propane tanks or the edge of your camper might be a problem. Just thinking out loud! ...

Solo Brothers Taking Interviews to Join Your Camp!

Are you a camp that inflated your population to improve your chances or to get a better placement closer to the Esplenade? Did you end up with more space that you could possibly use and are struggling to make good use of it? I've got just the solution for you! My brother and I will come set up my tr...

Re: My camp's prep list so far

Nice work Bunny! You've got a nice camp planned. Like Ratty said...get there early to make sure you have the space you need and be ready to adapt on the fly in case it goes sideways. My brother and I are in a similar situation. My camp is a little more DIY, but taking it up a few levels this year to...

Hi godiechoes, Welcome to Eplaya! Good job getting started early and planning ahead. There are lots of ways to do this event. You can camp solo, with a small unplaced group or you could join an established camp. Depends on what you are looking for. Vehicle passes are pretty valuable at this point. T...

I was with a placed camp and had early entry work passes in '12 and '13. Even then there was plenty of open camping so I never gave it a second thought. This year, I was looking forward to camping solo. Now I'm wondering if I should rethink my plans and see about joining back up with my old camp or ...

Thank you everyone!

Going to the event is the big deal but I'd forgotten how much fun it is to dream/plan/execute a BM plan. It's really a ticket to 6 months of fun for me!

The Meet 'N Greet is on my to-do list this year...but you know how that goes. Hopefully we'll get to meet in person!
