Trolling ePlaya: Annoying. Bad idea. REPEATEDLY trolling ePlaya: Seriously...just don't.
When I first read this I got super sad/worried because I read it as "no trolling on the Playa" (I didn't see the "e" before Playa) and I thought this whole discussion was for not....

Ugh. No tea baggers. Are your plans for the koolaid camp more fun and games or more casual? I'd be down for considering something that is more low key- not trying to entertain the entire playa 24/7 and not having a crazy volunteer schedule of when to be where to entertain whom. It is my first year o...

Welcome home both of you! ePlaya has been a tremendous help for me already- and well, people will answer your questions-- but after reading your post, what exactly is (are) your question(s)? Are you looking for people to meet up with? recommendations on what to bring for your food? Things to give pe...

while we're on the topic of theme camps... how much does size vary on these? what's the best way to find out about commitments- just start emailing folks when the contacts go up on the theme camp page? This will be my first burn and I'm *really* leaning towards camping with just the few friends I ha...

I mean, I sucked at chemistry... but sodium chrolide is table salt, right? And what's a "mike for a week" following added in edit: the fully cooked bacon is amazing. you can eat it right out of the bag if you don't mind it on the chewy side. (I'll let you know in the morning whether that's a good id...

First, I had to laugh at the comment of "long hair" being shoulder length. And also, I'm glad this thread exists as I've been super curious about what to do with mine. Mine is almost to the small of my back, thick and curly. I don't *really* want to dread it, but I have *no* idea how to keep it main...

This has been an incredibly helpful thread for this virgin :) i've been apprehensive about everything because I don't party a lot (ha, we'll see if that stays the case!), I'm more of a social butterfly So yes, thank you for all the various aspects and acknowledging a WIDE variety of folks exist- and...

I'd die for any sort of burner meet up. The best I got is a couple of friends who've gone before who live THOUSANDS of miles away and a regional burn that is MONTHS away and ONE other friend who's never been either but she lives like 8 hours from me. You *have* to go for me!!! I can only imagine how...

BFE to BRC
Just another one of those virgin burners from a podunk-nowhere town on my way to BRC with way too many questions, etc :) Look forward to learning about folks and BM over these next months then maybe meeting in person on the Playa :) Don't know any (ok, only one or two) burners, don't know anyone goi...

Victorian, It'll be my first time too and like you, I live in the middle of nowhere. I don't know any local burners but what I'm doing is sending texts/emails/whatever to people I know in my community who might know some burners to touch base with. I also am planning on going to a regional burn at t...

If you are going to sew something yourself, make sure you know about material and how to follow a pattern. I just joined a quilting guild and will probably have something quilted to wear- there are lots of old ladies there who are thrilled to answer questions about sewing :) It'll be ugly and probab...
