Using a 200 hp engine to charge a battery may not be the most cost effective charge system, but hey, gotta use what ya got. I spent $200 for a 110 watt solar panel and charge controller on ebay to charge my two RV trailer batteries, Except for the AC, I don't run the generator any more.

Make friends with people who have shade. Stay there during the worst sun of the day, 10-4, maybe take a nap. You won't miss anything and you still have 18 hours a day to party as the playa rarely sleeps.

Don't forgrt all the rabbits and deer running across the road. We got in line about 10 Am and still waited 4 hours. Best suggestion I can give is make sure you fill with gas at the last opporunity. There were several cars being pushed through the line last year.
