Re: 2012 Theme Camps - will you make it this year?
I understand from our camp organizers that Deviant Playground won't be on the playa for 2012. Something like 6 out of 20 with tickets.

Re: Baby at BM, experience? preparation? what? where?
You know hen the BMORg tells you not to bring you pets because the conditions are to harsh and it's cuel on the animal, perhaps you might insert baby instead of pet and read again. Shambala had it exactly right. Sometimes when you're a parent, it just isn't about you anymore. Stay home!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Installed Sirus Radio in the trailer, must have music. Deep Fried and deboned 20 lb turkey for camp dinner at home rather than having the mess on the Playa. Fried 6lbs of bacon. Working on DP camp bike racks tomorrow. Much is working on costumes. Collected a palet of body paint and brushes. Dry run ...

Nice pictures Jon. Very classy looking. We wouldn't mind having our pics taken if they were of this quality and not some slimeball posting them on the Internet.

Maybe you could hire a plane and parachute into BM. Instead of a reserve chute, pack your supplies.

Re: Battery Charge Through Car
Using a 200 hp engine to charge a battery may not be the most cost effective charge system, but hey, gotta use what ya got. I spent $200 for a 110 watt solar panel and charge controller on ebay to charge my two RV trailer batteries, Except for the AC, I don't run the generator any more.

Make friends with people who have shade. Stay there during the worst sun of the day, 10-4, maybe take a nap. You won't miss anything and you still have 18 hours a day to party as the playa rarely sleeps.

Re: 1st time Calgary Burner!
When you cross the border, don't screw around. Don't wear your burner clothes, don't put a sign on your car burning man or bust. If you google your route, take a look at stopping at Summer Lake Hot Springs the night before you arive at BM. Very burner friendly, clothing optional that week, and very ...

Re: If I Arrive At Gate At 12:01am on 8/29, Will Line Be Lon
Don't forgrt all the rabbits and deer running across the road. We got in line about 10 Am and still waited 4 hours. Best suggestion I can give is make sure you fill with gas at the last opporunity. There were several cars being pushed through the line last year.

What a silly idea. Ends in 2011. Everyone knows 2012 is the last year for Burning man due to the world ending in December of 2012.

I pre cooked 5 pounds of bacon. Never goes bad, eat it 3 meals a day :D Do you put your bacon in the fridge/cooler after you pre-cook your bacon? We put it in plastic bags in our ice chest, but I don't think you would need to. Costco sells bacon bits in bags that sit out at room temp for months. :D...

Weight and gas mileage are two biggest reasons I could think of for waiting to get your water. Water quality and avilablity re the best reason to bring it with you. Sounds like you mave have all that covered and have no reason not to bring water from home. Keep in mind that water makes a great gift ...

Also, considering your choice of water containers. The camp next to us decided to use one big assed barrel for water. They put it on a table and went out on the playa. When they got back, the table had fallen over and all the water was soaking into the dust. Lucky for them, I had filled up in Cedarv...

As Trishntek said, if you are comming from Seattle, as your profile says, your route might more likely take you through Altura, and Cedarville. We found Cedarville to be particularly burner friendly and camped at a little RV park on the north side of town. I filled my 120 gallon water tank there for...

We drove our 2004 chevy Tahoe last year, and pulled our trailer. We didn't clean up or change filters (engine and cab) until we got home. I washed the Tahoe for hours and no matter what we did, gray dust/mud leaked out from every crevice for months when it rained. Everytime we turned on the AC or de...

Hey Rabbi, do yourself a favor. Stay with 110 volt outlets and appliances. Don't screw with the house wiring. Instead go ahead and install the solar power charging system for your bank of batteries using 12, 24, or 48 volts DC depending on the depth of your pockets, then connect that battery bank to...

That's what I heard also dragonpilot. Burning Man will be cancelled in 2012 because it's scheduled to close to the end of the world on December 21, 2012. http://www.2012warning.com/
It will however be back in 2013.......bigger and better than ever.
