Re: 2015 one item a day for BM list..

Just paid the last bill, car is packed except for food, everything fits well this year, too well, what did I forget?!? Departing for Reno TOMORROW morning. Finally, six months of planning about to be realized, whew now I can let go! See you all out there in the sun, dust, wind, and hopefully that's ...

Re: 2015 one item a day for BM list..

I had everything dialed in, even remembered to order a replacement ink cartridge for our printer so the kids can print schoolwork while we are gone. I was feeling pretty good about myself. Then I realized...I never got the additional poles I need for our shade structure. Without them, it doesn't go...

Re: 2015 one item a day for BM list..

Made the bed in the trailer and taped heater filters to the windows. Final day at work today, and a big family dinner tonight, but all I want to do is pack!! Can't really get to it until tomorrow, at least everything is staged. I leave for Reno on Friday morning.

Sorry no experience with dry ice.

DUH! embarrassed. Thanks for that reminder.

Lucky, what's the newspaper do for the dry ice? Insulate? Slow down the sublimation/sublimating?

Re: dry ice tips?

Soooo, experienced folks, I have a small cooler I want to keep frozen food in. I'm planning on putting two packages of dry ice on top (with a cardboard barrier between it and the already frozen food). I'll pack this up, and into the trailer on Thursday...arrive on Playa on Saturday. I have a moving...

Re: Suggestions for Lighting Our Camp Frontage Display

Oooh, I like the thumbscrew idea. And also those great sleeves with the pennants - clever! Please update after the burn to let us know how they held up in the wind - I have an art-project-in-the-dreaming that would use a similar system and would benefit from hearing about your experience. :) I will...

Re: Suggestions for Lighting Our Camp Frontage Display

Glad you found a solution you like! How will you keep the EMT in place and upright? BSG, we're pounding a 5' tall x 5/8" rebar into the ground 1.5', then sliding an 8' tall x 1" EMT over it. A thumbscrew near the bottom will tighten against the rebar. They wobble a bit in the wind but the...

Re: Suggestions for Lighting Our Camp Frontage Display

I know it took me awhile, sorry, but here are some images of the solution we finally worked out for lighting the M-Used Car Lot at Art Car Camp. We'll be stringing LED lights between these EMT posts. Thanks to everyone here who helped me figure this out. There will be ten of these along our frontage...

Re: 2015 one item a day for BM list..

Okay the trailer deep cycle batteries were replaced yesterday but then both venting skylights began disintegrating. I had to take an 80 mile trip to the RV supply store for new vents. Lucky I brought the trailer along because I first bought a kind with the wrong hinge. Took them back, and got the ri...

Well it's good to get safety checks on van and trailer before the big trip, but damnit, I have to replace both deep cycle batteries. Still, we got 6 years out of them so I think that's not bad. Also very unfortunate... as I uncovered the CandyHome trailer, I put my thumb through, (yes through) the c...
