Re: Plug n plays running amuk

I called BMIR this year to pimp eplaya a bit. They recognized my name and contributions and were very exited that I had called. They wanted me to come back and said I wouldn't have to lift a finger and they would supply everything for my burn. They would take care of everything. I couldn't possibly ...

Re: cooling your tent or van

For those of you doing box or unicoolers, coating the water reservoir area with flex seal will stop any leaks.

Re: The 2025 Burning Man Bar is open

Say somebody wants to do something that they've thought about and asked everybody but their grandpa how to do it.

Grandpa is old, so they didn't ask him, but he knows absolutely everything about what they want to do.

And the easiest way to do it.

That's what I think of when I think of ePlaya. :D

Re: The 2025 Burning Man Bar is open

I think I found out why there is so little traffic on this forum the last few years.

Out of curiosity I just googled ePlaya and the forum doesn't even show up as an option.

So it goes.

Re: The 2025 Burning Man Bar is open

Things always slow down in the summer.

This year more so.

I haven't sold or move a plant in months.

Like everything, this is both a blessing and a curse.

I don't have to go out in the heat, but I'm not making a dime.

Re: cooling your tent or van

The main reason I designed the cooler is that there are sooooo many amazing things going on 24/7 that burners can sometimes be overwhelmed and not realize they've been up for a couple of days. Then it hits them at two in the afternoon that they HAVE to sleep. Or they dance all night and stay up for ...

Re: cooling your tent or van

As for your rv, the easiest way to mount it is a narrow shelf in front of one of the rv windows.

The cooler is inside the space with the pad side against the screen.

This keeps it removable easily for other uses.

Re: cooling your tent or van

messer, you live in Tucson. I live in Apache Junction. When I grew up in Mesa (in the stone age) all we had on the house was a swamp cooler. Even now with AC, I use a swamp cooler as long as the humidity is 10% or less since it saves me $4 a day in power and works just as well. Yesterday was 107 wit...

Re: cooling your tent or van

There's a lot to unpack here. 100cfm is not going to do what you want. We've found that the fan [model afb1212she 1.60 amps 190cfm] is the minimum for an affective bucket cooler. Since the bucket is outside the space, I'd be surprised if you noticed the noise. I don't think it will cool enough to tr...

Re: cooling your tent or van

The bucket is slightly tapered, so the pad "tube" will be about a 1/4 inch from the sides of the bucket where the holes are.

If the pad comes in contact with the holes, the water may find a way out.

Re: cooling your tent or van

I would consider that a large tent.

Even if it is under shade, the bucket will only help a little.

The blue pad is all you need as a filter.

Anything more will just block air flow.

Any dust in the bucket settles to the bottom in a thin layer and will be fine.

Re: cooling your tent or van

The bucket works fine for a small tent.

The unicooler is for larger spaces that need a lot more air flow.

Just rescued a 20x45 edged aluminet shade tarp.

Nowhere anywhere have I read that aluminet can shed micro-silver glitter with age.

It does, and now my driveway looks like a pound of this stuff is everywhere.

Moop much??
