Re: Plug n plays running amuk

don't give up... don't ever give up. what IS encouraging and gives me hope is the dialogue and conversation that is going on, and you know what? The BMORG DOES LISTEN just look at last year, they heard when we cried out about early sound camp line ups. keep crying out, let your voice be heard, i'm ...

Re: Burning 2019-2028 Plan - Your input requested (long)

Things changed after the population cap was hit and tickets were limited. It was a really great thing to have the only limit to attending be whether you could get your shit together enough to attend and pull off your gift. It would be a great thing if we could make a leap in transportation that was...

Re: Decommodification Starts With You

Gaminwench/JohnnyA, I completely believe that there were stylists, costumers, and photographers involved... but that doesn't mean Burning Man knew of or approved of anything. Anybody can bring clothing and costume, makeup, and cameras (or even just cameraphones) into the event without any real scru...

Re: "Burning Man's Culture is in Danger"

I think the answer for saving Burning Man culture in general is to have service camps, theme camps, music camps do their utmost best to share the Burning Man ethos through their relationships with their volunteers, campers and guests. Thanks! And agree. One of our major debates on ePlaya is virgin ...

I think we're on the same page BBadger. I give precisely zero fucks if someone wants to pay extra for a guaranteed shot at a ticket, but if they do so then pick up a main sale ticket and look to scalp the higher priced on I get tetchy.

Re: Almost no $425 tix posted- hmm, what are the odds?

Names on the pre-sales, I like that. A lot. Seems fair to me. Doesn't create a huge hassle since there's not that many presale tickets to begin with, but it definitely prevents them from being misused. One would think that most of the pre-sale ticket buyers are intended to be people invested in bei...

Re: Almost no $425 tix posted- hmm, what are the odds?

People with enough cash flow hit both the presales and the main sale, then try to unload the pricey tickets later. This is a complete and total asshole move. Even people I know and love do this, and I still think it is an asshole move. The cheaper tickets are generally disseminated through the STEP...

Burning Man has been known to be the perfect canvass for experimenting and stepping out of your comfort zone. With no judgement, it's your time to try things you wouldn't/couldn't try in the default world. You may find that your 2018 trip to BRC is life altering for you. Just hope your social media...

Yeah, these days showering in the open at the burn lands you on reddits festivalsluts image share before you even have the dust shaken out of your socks. That level of trust of the people around you cant survive smartphones on the playa.

cmrabet, That is an excellent idea. (It's exactly what I do.) However, I have a carport instead of a monkey hut. I bring an ice chest for beer and fruit cups but no perishables. Re: VP Order Cancelled?! Rant

I don't know if ticketing can help you out, but maybe you can contact them about this. BMOrg really should get their shit together to prevent these kinds of SNAFUs. Maybe TicketFly's system is so inflexible that they can't restrict purchases of dependent items (e.g. allowing VP sales only if ticket...

Think of it also in cynical terms, as the purge of people selling pre-sale tickets has begun. Be curious to see the results of a quick comparison against the main sale rolls and those selling their pre-sale tix. :D

Not necessarily done. Depends on how the queue management works. Probably more people in the queue than tickets, though. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if they're gone already. Nearly everyone I know who's going is planning on buying double the tickets they need if they get through so they can sell...

Nope. Only banning ALL Military Grade Guns will help to do that. You'd have better luck banning thumbs. Humans are just tool using apes, and have been slaughtering each other just fine for millions of years without the need for modern tools to do so. That said, I'd much prefer that, should a fit yo...

Since when? Since Burning Man was Google's first doodle. If you want good practice, throw together a few pair of wrap pants. They're an easy pattern you can put together out of whatever cool broadcloth you can get for a price, and the cut is forgiving enough that if you screw up they're more than likely absolutely still wearable. There's a good tutorial h...
