One thing that i think would be cool is a surface that still holds its traction, ive found spinning on some wood and most brick surfaces it gets very slippery especialy if people are spinning with Kero or Lamp Oil, As for music, maybe have the option for people to bring their own, or "themed" playli...

Department of Mutant Vehicles suggests that we keep the number of drivers to bare minimum so it wil...

Giant human "Sorry" would be fun, too- You could make the Pop-O-Matic out of a trampoline..... OR Eplaya Whack-A-Troll Roofieland (adult Candyland) Domi(natrix)noes HungyHungryHarveys hehe yeah there are alot of games that you could run but building the board and getting it there would be our probl...

if that hat provided shade and possibly beverages (classic straw feed method) then the waiting would be less of an issue. Chat away to your fellow pieces, chat up the nearest queen, heckle the opposing pawns. If people don't pay attention to their move, that little electric shocker you installed in...

It would be tricky. You'd need to have some master control board with a single person watching and then calling out who gets to move. Not a simple thing at all really. You'll also need some way to remember who is which piece. Had you planned on hats or costumes? Yeah we were thinking about getting ...

I Think the Checkers idea would work better as it would be more involved and fast paced, I had the idea that we could run the chess game a la thunder dome style with padded swords and pieces would have dule each other to be taken (so just because the knight jumps the queen, the queen can still smite...

Human Chess and Checkers
What I was envisioning was a massive chess/checkers board (was thinking a painted sheet pined to the playa) where people took on the parts of the pieces, in the chess game the King would be in "command" of the "army" and in checkers having a piece elected "king" and having people literary jump each ...

Seeing all the poi at burning man really blew me away too, Here in New Zealand we kinda take the poi for granted as it originated from Maori Tradition (for those who didnt know), So most fire spinners tend to be staff, (not to say there aren't a lot of poi spinners) but watching all the poi spinners...

Ipods are pretty well sealed, i had mine on the playa this year and had no real problems (except the white cord turning a dull shade of brown) The only areas dust can get onto in is through the docking port on the base, or the headphone connecter on the top, so as long as you keep them covered you s...
