Re: Old Motorhome Issue - Any Idea What This Could Be?

Sorry for the delay in responding! Yeah, this sums it up. Headlights only go out when she's running hot. I sent the thread replies to my RV guy in Reno. Not sure what he'll be able to figure out before this Wednesday! Just in case I got 2 high-powered tactical flashlights! We'll tape em' down in fr...

Re: My son wants an ATV

I remember when 3 wheelers (Big Red, pre-dating 4 wheelers) gained major popularity back in the day, those things fucked up nearly everybody that rode them...but yeah, two wheels are a lot easier to control, three wheels was a dangerous configuration.

You could probably pull it off for 1500 bucks or so for one person driving from that distance, 2nd person in the same vehicle would be less. You won't be the fanciest, but you may not die either...

Yeah, shoot them with friggin lasers! German Shepherds with friggin lasers mounted on their heads. Hahahahaha perfect except doggos aren’t allowed (even ones with lasers mounted on their heads) How about a couple of plywood silhouette cut-outs keeping watch with lasers? https://cdn5.vectorstock.com...

Re: Estimate for early entry Gate delay

The lengthening delays over the last few years is a direct consequence of the increased number of early entry folks.
I'll bet as much as 40% of the overall population is already inside by the time gates open.

Bikes at savemart - yes
Bike rentals on playa - no

Butane backpacker fuel - maybe
Propane canisters - yes

Time enough to uber over to wallyworld - Doubt it, I think the stop is for one hour. They won't worry about you if you're not back in time.

I've never gone early either, but from what i understand early entry has gotten fairly clogged for the last 3 or 4 years. Saturday is probably the biggest influx of early entry participants too.

Get some material to make a wall or two off of that shade and put your tent near a high profile vehicle such as a bus, RV, or box truck to get some shade off of and help things out. It'll be fine

Re: Old Motorhome Issue - Any Idea What This Could Be?

thermal breaker.png Does your 1971 have ye olde thermal breaker like this? Hot temps under hood can make a weak one even weaker... There is a simple bimetallic strip inside that opens when hot and closes when your mechanic trouble shoots it later in cooler temps. That's exactly the kind I was refer...

Re: How hot is it in BRC?

Shade all by itself will give you a FAR better effect than any of those other solutions by themselves... Shade is right up there with water, without reprieve from the sun you may start to wish for a quick death. Get together some shade materials and a good spray bottle, apply liberally as needed, en...

Re: Old Motorhome Issue - Any Idea What This Could Be?

I'd look real close like at the headlight switch and it's electrical plug and wires, also there could be a breaker somewhere in there for the headlights that's weak... Triple check all wires and terminals that connect to the positive side battery terminal and there could be a few wires that are fusi...

The BX has it's own area at the end of the terminal, I'm sure it's not uncommon to find sleeping burners in the wee hours...

Just make sure you don't sleep funny and get a kink in the neck to last the rest of the week.

Re: Have you taken BXB from BRC to SF on a Monday?

That Monday is a real crap shoot, there's a ton of traffic trying to get home including the Sparks Rib cookoff and many from the Reno/ Truckee/ Tahoe areas. If shit hits the fan anywhere along that route, including Interstate 80 (and it often does) the wait times can get out of control. Just so you ...

If you're using a real set of calipers there is no "approx", that measurement should be dead-on accurate. Also a set of calipers should yield more digits past the decimal point.
