Remember 2-3 years ago when it felt like it was 40 by midnight? That was 2015, and that's what you get when daytime highs are only in the 80s or low 90s. It didn't just feel like 40 by midnight, it was 40 by midnight. I was getting temps in the high 30s inside my tent trailer before going to bed......

Just keep pounding energy drinks in your vehicle on gate road while waiting to get through greeters, by the time you find your spot you'll have enough saved up... mark out a small basketball court. You're certainly living up to your name. Bravo! Where can I go to give you a shot or two of whiskey? ...

Shake-down on the Rezs?

Is anyone else out there hearing about Bureau of Indian Affairs (federal agents) pulling over and searching cars, already this year, happening now? And I'm not talking about business as usual either, sounds rather strong-armed... Just trying to figure out if this is some fringe theory, or actuality.

I must be old or something... When I drop half a grand on a tool I expect a pull-chord and a choke on it. ;) Yeah, I wouldn't spend that kind of money on tools either if I didn't make my money everyday with them... I got some lags and chain links about 4 years back, I only use them for guy straps if and when the winds start to really sway things... My set up requires pounding 12 pieces of rebar 12"-15" deep, which isn't that hard. Anyways, I wouldn't have switched to lag bolts just for the addition of a guy li...

You'll probably be in good shape placing your own art in deep playa, if you trailer in your container using an extra VP you may have laying around and bring your own container-moving giant forklift... Or you could just go through the proper channels. I'd try getting a hold of them first thing in Nov...

You could also reduce the strain on the aluminet by weaving the guy line through the front edge grommets, around the poles and down to the ground in line with that edge. Then just add one more line on each pole pulling straight forward, perpendicular to the first ones. Don't forget some sort of guy ...

Re: Looking for tent and shade feedback

Have you tried two guy lines on each of the outer poles? Continue the guy lines in-line with the edges of your cloth, 90 degrees to one another, that should stabilize it all you'll ever need.

Dual direction guy lining is always better than single direction, especially with freestanding poles...
