Midweek use of a construction forklift or cherry picker.

I was wondering where I would be able to borrow or rent or loan out a piece of heavy equipment on the wednesday night of the burn. I only need it for a few hours and I'm assuming that theres not a huge demand for equipment at that time of the week. It would be in the late afternoon and early evening...

Re: Where to find thermax HD in British Columbia?

I bought it online and had it shipped to a friend in the states and then they brought it to me. Never had to deal with big shipping costs. Good luck!

Re: Newfie solo virgin burner - should I join a theme camp?

Hey newfie solo You'll be fine with just bringing a tent and food and water and hanging with the people you meet on the bus. Come look me up at 3:00 and A. I'm part of Apres ski camp. Were from Vancouver. My parents live in NFLD in Bay Roberts. I would love to hear your accent on the playa. My Name ...

Some camps have really awesome drinks served in equally awesome ways. How are you going to get me drunker this year? Where will you be and what is in the drink and what do you call it?

Hexayurt Newbie in Vancouver BC

I've posted a while back about where to get some thermax in Vancouver. I got some great tips. I'm very close to the purchasing point for the yurt materials but was wondering if anyone here (Vancouver) would be interested in doing a group buy for tape and even the thermax or equivalent. And then if t...

I had a friend that lived in Ireland where everyone drinks like a fish and she said they all took Milk Thistle ev...

I have so many things I want to say on this topic but dont want to sound preachy. Last year was my first and I felt I missed out by getting so drained I missed my 3rd night out of 4 nights. I did way to many substances and drank non stop. I also dont remember alot of good times people told me I had....

Willing to stay after to help dismantle?

Seems like alot of people want to get in early and need a pass for that. I was wondering if there was a pass required to stay late and help clean up and take down camps? I really don't want to be part of the mass exodus. I don't think my car would handle it all that well.

Thanks for all the input. SOo much for radical self reliance on my part. I called roofmart and they have the 1.5 sheets for 33.22 and the 1inch sheets for 23.86. BUT they dont have them in stock. I was wondering if anyone here would like to do a group buy. Not that we will get a deal but I think the...

Ya I agree that having a authentique "Slutwalk" on the playa doesn't fit burning man at all. How about a "Srutwalk"? All the Asian school girls (in uniform of course) have a march to show their opposition to having their pubic hair blurred out in Japanese porn!!! I would support that!

I went to the Slut walk in Vancouver BC today. I got the message they were trying to convey. Women are upset that the courts are wrongly shifting the blame from the rapist onto the raped if the woman has dressed in sexy clothes. Its like saying that the robber had the right to rob the bank seeing as...

My currently noisey gas scooter will be decorated and pretty cool looking. A mutant vehicle for one. Kinda like those little cupcakes. (dont they have seats?) I still believe that pedal powered bikes are best. I promise not to go faster than 5mph while on the streets.

I'll do my best to make it quiet. As the BDC DMV says"(A lot of people would like to see these noisy things banned, but we've avoided just making "one more rule" and instead ask owners of such vehicles to operate them with respect!) " If I had the option of buying a cheap electric one and a solar pa...

Gas powered stand up scooter muffler

I have a little gas powered scooter that I will be bringing to the playa this year. I want to know how I can make it louder and more annoying!? Just kidding I was wondering what others have done to their mufflers to make them quieter. Is there a simple muffler add on I could get? Its not my only rid...

In no real order just as they come to my head: 1 treat your body well. Use lots of sun screen and moisturiser. The dust will hurt you after a week of being covered in it. Not after just one day but make a point of soaking your feet in vinegar and water if you are going to wear flip flops. You should...

I found out that the home depot here in Vancouver can order in sheets of stuff called IKO ENERfoil
http://www.iko.com/shared/commercial/br ... erfoil.pdf
It looks good but its $42cdn plus tax a sheet.
Thats for 1.5 inch thick stuff. Its an option but pricey.
Hmmm what to do, what to do.....

My adverse advice

Stay away from the water trucks if you have fenders. The playa mud builds up quick on the tires and you will lock the wheels. It stopped me dead after I thought it would be cool to ride behind the water truck and get wet. If your going to leave your bike anywhere make sure you can see it from far aw...

Where to find thermax HD in British Columbia?

I'm wanting to build a Hexayurt this year. I want to get some of the Thermax Hd 4x8 sheets. Does anyone know where to get them in Western Canada? I live in Vancouver.[/b]
