Re: Gifts for the playa

I'm striving this year to collect the gift of people's wisdom. I'm bringing a diary, and for my gifts the exchange of some burning man wisdom is all I ask. Hoping to fill the whole thing up this year. :D

Re: HexaYurts

The first year I went Hexayert I bought all 13, 1" for ~$350. Thought it was expensive at the time, but the second year came around and I only had to replace 1 panels. The third year came and I only had to replace 3 panels (3 because my tie downs tore them up during exodus). If your only using the p...

Re: Costume & Crafting Help

I trick my cheap sewing machine when I'm sewing faux fur. I put a strip of paper below and above the fur, adding paper as I go. It keeps the fur from getting stuck in the boot. After my sew is finished I rip the paper off. Just make sure you use a thin paper like tracing paper or you will rip out yo...

Might be off topic, but what size RU all building? So, I guess I'm still dubious on 8' walls--but who knows, next year we might add a third room with 8' walls--or figure out how to put a second story on the thing!!! Oh the possibilities. A second story! LOL now that would be prone to wind damage. T...

I have a costume question... I'm a guy that wants to wear a sheet wrapped around my waste, how can i make it not look like a dress skirt? any suggestions... What do you want it to look like? I guess i'm crossed between what looks more masculine. A shorter cloth wrap or a longer cloth wrap. I was to...

A Bota Bag/ Water Bladder is the best! It's easy to carry and you can always decorate them with extra leather or cloth. They can easily become apart of a costume. The leather ones keep you liquid cooler than any plastic bottle. I use to work for a guy that made them from scratch. It's extremely easy...

I'm doing the dry ice thing this year. I have done it before when i go camping. If you leave the block alone and not chip it, it will last a lot longer. 2-3 lb block, 3 day camping trip and the block is still good! I don't know about a week though... Hmm.... 5lb block i'm guessing. Lose a Pound a da...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/steven8says/progress.jpg In studying the Eskimo dress throughout the centuries it has come to my attention that now the "Eskimo" dress is comprised of nothing more than a pink fluffy hat and some type of swim wear. So in wearing a Spirit Hood, this would still...

I still think you should just go as an Eskimo for laughs! With all those coats on I can roll you around and I'm sure i could get people to play some type of 4 square with you. :D Image

So the single Gallon idea is a bad one. Looks like the 2.5 "suitcase" is the best idea so far, it probably stacks better than the single gallons. Does anyone have a pix to compare to KMAN'S? Cuz that's what i was thinking the inside of my car might look like... LOL.

I was wondering how most people store their water at Burning Man. I know there are tons of ways to store water, but on the Playa what’s the most efficient way?
