FLAMING HAT
I saw a really cool hat this year- this dude had a regular hat that had aluminum tubes coming out of it- he had a gas tank of some sort that he carried on his waist, which fed a pneumatic tube that connected to aluminum tubing and that ended with a pneumatic muffler that had flames coming out of the...

Re: Have you ever refused a search?
And yes, I have refused consent to search my car in the past- I got pulled over for my lights being off when I left a bar. I was very cooperative, I passed field sobriety test, blew within legal limits. When the officer asked "Is it ok if we search your vehichle" I simply said "Im sorry, no officer"...

Re: Have you ever refused a search?
If an officer asks you to do or search something or enter some place, it is because he does not have the right to do so without your consent. When they have a right to do what they want, they WILL do what they want and TELL you, not ask. That being said, when faced with a request where the officer i...

Re: Low Waste Tent/Mattress Solution (Coming from Abroad)
My first burn, my neighbor brought scrap lumbar- pannels, 2x4's etc and built a mini box home It was basically a mini shed with extra length of wood panneling on top Half the time when it was too cold or windy, he slept inside his fort, the other half- specially when he brought a girl home with him,...

Re: Camel bak, good or bad?
Cant tell you how many times Ive misplaced my bag. Seriously. Simple solution: While out and about don't ever, ever take your backpack off and leave it somewhere. Problem solved. If it where only that simple. When I hear good music, I HAVE to dance... And I dance like a fish flopping around out of ...

Re: Weening off calories in preparation...
I work out a bit, and also have quite a fast metabolism aside from that. It can be rather difficult for me to hold onto muscle mass unless Im loading up on creatine and such. Out there, every year no matter what, I drop weight. Then again, Im dancing all day, all night. I suppliment with creatine wh...

Circus theme camp from last year? Any CYR wheels out there?
I heard there was a camp last year with a circus theme that had a trapeze and a bunch of other circus apparatus. Im not sure, but I seem to remember someone saying it was around 7-9 o'clock somewheres. Reason why Im asking, Ive got a cyr wheel, and I read somewhere online that someone had one up at ...

Re: Better than goggles! Try these this year-
Yeah, what Dragonpilot said. I dont get motorcycle goggles, I use motorcycle shades, of course the goggles would probably work even better, but straps bug the $h*t out of me. The foam on those works better than goggles, theres also less distance between your face and the lenses. Those white BMX type...

Better than goggles! Try these this year-
My first year was 2010, I did alot of research before going to the burn, saw everyone raving about these white goggles that are used in dirtsports and what not. I got a pair, brought them both in 2010 as well as 2011. Used them for a total of 15 min between the two burns combined. Turns out fine par...

Re: Camel bak, good or bad?
what Arielmonster said. Ive used my camelback for the last two burns... It is ESSENTIAL! Water stays surprisingly cool, and I dont use any ice! The protective cap over the mouthpiece... PRICELESS! Think about what happens when its the middle of the night and youre hustling to take a pee before rushi...

Partied in the back of the 16' truck al...

most notable ways people where interacting
What where some of the funniest, most creative or interesting ways you saw people interacting at the burn this year? Prolly the funniest one I saw was the "peep-a-boo" building- this dude had a cardboard box on colored in like a tall building with doorways that opened to his butt, his package and hi...

Any ideas on how to shade the box of a 16' box truck?
At first I was thinking of making a monkey hut to shade the truck and then I got a good look at the dimesions, that certainly wont do to shade a big 'ol box truck! Ive read other posts on using box trucks to sleep in, and it seems a shade structure that has about 1' clearance over the surface of the...

box truck rental fyi
Just reserved a truck this morning at budget rental in reno from the Gentry location. Yes, this close to Bman. I got the impression from the guy taking care of the Bman rentals that they are fast approaching capacity- pulling in 10 trucks a day from other locations to stock up- specifically for burn...

I did a smaller festival (starwood festival) back in 2002 or 2003 by myself- BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! was supposed to meet a friend up there who had japped on me, but it was a blessing in disguise. Made a boatload of friends and cha...

First timer from Rochester NY- going solo
cant wait!!! Been reading up, thinking I may rent a 16'box truck from nearby the burn as I will be flying in and buying supplies nearby. Currently trying to decide on a camp- will most likely try and get into Hushville if I can. Any good suggestions on best places to volunteer? Id like to greet, but...
