Re: Just booked RV for 2017!!!
[quote="LukyPhil"]Aussie Burner coming over for 2017 and I can't get over the level of profiteering going on with RV rentals for the period encompassing burning man. Prices are running at $400 a day on sites such as RV Share, almost beyond the means of most people especially if your traveling in fro...

Southern Burners/Theme Camps
Greetings! I have done a search without grand results... Where are the southern burners? My regional tribe doesn't make the pilgrimage to the playa but I know you daredevils are here! My name is moonshine. I live outside Asheville with my mate, Mateo Ranchero. We run Mermaid Oasis hydration and self...

Re: People Seeking Camps 2017
Greeting Earthlings and Travelers. Introducing myself, Moonshine, and Mateo Ranchero’s as friends and potential future campmates. We look forward to burning with you. Big picture: We live on a farm outside of Asheville, NC. We are seasoned burners. I have been to the big burn twice, and Mateo and I ...

Teachers -Left out in the cold
I am curious if this topic has ever come up before in the community. I am a teacher of 7 years who has miraculously made it to the burn twice. As I as sure many people do, I had to do some pretty elaborate schedule rearranging and storytelling to make the burn. If you aren't aware, schools usually b...

Re: Drama versus crankiness and grumpiness
I realize that this could be considered a dead thread, but I am going to open it back up because I think it can do a lot of good for those who read it. I am a Kindergarten teacher, melt downs happen daily, almost hourly. Some people are more prone to reactive behaviors than others. It is important t...

Reno Residents- place to stay/hang out Sunday night?
Hello I am flying in from North Carolina to Reno on Sunday at 6:30. My ride will not be in reno until very early Monday morning. I am offering to help load your trucks, finish your costume, put some yarn-locks in your hair, or cook you dinner in exchange for a place to hang out until my ride arrives...

I am an early childhood educator. I have been out of college for a couple of years and working in the field for 3. I honestly never thought I would be able to go. However, due to a need to move across country and a job change, I can make it this year! I would love to get together with other educator...

Weather looks good to me.

Judging by this it seems like "good" weather for the desert. However, I know wind chill is a factor. Anyone have any info on the "feels like:" temps for the forecast?
Can't wait!

Any other educators going to the burn?
I finally can go this year, only because I am switching jobs for a year or two and working as an individual assistant for a boy with asperger's syndrome. I honestly didn't think i would ever be able to burn. The end of August is a really important time in school.
