This was my first year, but the music was certainly a big attractant on my list of possible ways to spend my time. I only encountered a couple of instances where the electronic music that was being pumped out at copious volume was something that truly moved me. It’s not that I don’t appreciate t...

They are there to experience BRC just like everyone else. Its when the citizens are doing something that forces the LEOs to intervene that they become a negative impact. Not sure I agree with you on this one Kickstart, every day on the playa I witnessed example after example of the BLM in particula...

Actually if they're jamming you'd be getting plety of strong and meaningless signal. Lots of FCC prohabitions against this one too.Kinetic V wrote:I've heard there's a camp planning to try out cell phone and wifi jammers on the playa. If you can't get any signal then you know that camp was successful.

Leaving a few days earlier than necessary so that I can reach maximum meander on the way there and arrive in the correct state of mind. @Token It’s a vanagon so my average is a little reduced (~30 MPG ), but I have a large-ish tank so my range is still pretty i...

Diesel Along the Way
I'm going to be checking to be sure, but I'm driving my diesel VW down to the playa this year. Are there good places to fill up before getting out onto the playa?

Korwedge, The easy way to solve your problem is to install a charge controller (as mentioned above). If you can't get a charge controller the other option is to wire a multi-meter to your battery and monitor (on a very regular basis) how your panel is charging your battery. Once its full disconnect ...

What is your experience with this though? Direct or is this assumed info? My experience with the product was direct and since I periodically live out of my Vanagon I may have used it much harder than it was ever intended to be used. I also had an older version of the product; my charge controller d...

Wouldn't dry ice freeze everything in the cooler solid, even with a shelf? It's -109° to -78°. Done it this way on extended river trips before. Think of it like an old fashioned ice box. The cool air from the frozen nitrogen is allowed to circulate throughout the cooler, but not the ice itself. S...

Better than a Birthday
I only recently re-made the decision to attend Burning Man. It’s a long story, but the gist of it is that I got level two tickets last winter by waiting in the virtual line for my first pair. My partner and I got pregnant after years of trying (thank science) in April. By late June this year thing...
