Well, I just got a new boyfriend and he's extremely supportive about this and other trips I have planned which he will not be able to go on. His approach for being supportive is to help me in all stages of planning and being a sound board for all the things I learn about the Playa and the event so h...

Some other considerations
So I went to buy my dust masks today and thought I'd share a morsel of thought about this experience on this thread. I tried on the 3M dry wall sanding masks, making sure it had the 95 percent effective rate. Had a good fit, smooth edges against my skin, and didn't feel clautrophobic. Made sure I go...

My dearest DVD Burner, I will forsake thy love under the threat of harm to your body, a body I hold most dear. I am humbled to admit that I cannot do the splits. I am inadequate at belly dancing though I have been told that beauty radiates and pulsates from my pale nekkid body even when I hold still...

So it sounds like the issue is resolved....just ask jbelson to be your guardian for the event!!!!! He said he'd welcome the adventure! [Said with the best maternal voice I can muster]....If you do come to the event, by hook or by crook, have the courtesy to read past ePlaya threads so you know what ...

Make the offenders hold their tongue against the toilet seat for 30 seconds. That ought to quickly and affectively solve the repeat offender issue. As for leaving the non potty items outside the potty, that doesn't sound realistic - the items might get blown away or spilt or just left behind because...

I'm thinking it might be in my best interest to play Goldilocks and test out some of the beds being discussed.....perhaps while ya'll're out partying I will sneak into your burrows of slumber and have myself a micro nap. :-) I'm flying in and don't have the luxury of packing (and paying to fly) most...

speaking of flashlights, I got a Night Star flashlight which is really a shake light - shake for 90 seconds and you get 20 minutes of strong light. Now I will never have to buy (or haul into the playa or throw away) batteries. This will be good for the playa but also for keeping in the car/house for...

not to back track to the icy hot on the nuts topic, but then again this could slip in under the nudity and hygiene - freshness is confidence? ;-) When I was at a large camping event (hash house harriers), I was showering at the public, open air showers near a guy and said to him, "Hey, try this down...

Anyone who wants to! Interested parties (those who protest the use of wood, perhaps) wishing to express their art with new medium could get some vegetarians, have them eat high fiber diets, collect their poo in special portojohns, age it and then those special parties can get in touch with their dun...

Ya know, it would be cool if we became the beetles and during the first few days of the event we each plastered our burnable contributions to a frame. Paper mache wouldn't be polluting, right? Is shellac the substance you were referring to? Shellac, as the word is commonly used, refers to all forms ...

Learning about dehydration
According to my 1992 Department of the Army Survival guidebook (worth the quarter at a garage sale), and assuming this info is still valid, here's what the desert survival section says: Thirst is not a reliable guide for your need for water. A person who uses thirst as a guide will drink only two-th...

Did everyone read this? I found it informative. Sounds like DMV is aware of the problems and making progress to solve them. p.s. I'm all for: • putting tire locks on unregistered art cars found cruising the playa • big visible stickers on all vehicles which serve legitimate playa business/emergencie...

Well, it seems like parents currently have the option to bring their children, so...... I repeat myself..... What will happen to BM if a baby/young child is permamently injured or dies at the event? Will that force a ....board decision?..... on an age limit to the event? Does BM have insurance to co...

where is "there?" to find you? I will be coming to BM en masse with the Big Puffy Yellow campers so I haven't got a clue when we will arrive at the playa on Aug 31 (Tuesday) after gathering water and food and stuff from the storage unit in Reno that morning. Once I arrive I want to do my part with h...

Hopefully someone in the know (with authority) can answer these questions. This is not so much about good/bad parenting, as legalities, ramifications and preparedness. What will happen to BM if a baby/young child is permamently injured or dies at the event? Will that force a ....board decision?........

Crying/wailing adults? Call a Ranger because something is most likely wrong and someone needs help. Rave Camps? I got the impression those were posted on the BM map so campers can plan to avoid them if desired. Generators? I'd think you could camp in Hushville if that was your form of annoyance. Per...

Mus, I had the same thing happen to me when I was down in Costa Rico. I got much relief by taking antihistamine/antiallergy relief medicine - because it was an allergy to the sun. Some serious implications to consider
This is my first year at BM and I'm concerned about me- a grown adult - taking care of myself while there. When I get into new situations, I get caught up in activities and have a tough time forcing my adult self to get rest, eat and drink water even though I understand why it is very very important...

So I sent that last message and then read the tagline for BAS and read he is in Wisconsin and then thought...where's captain from.....and then saw Seattle. My first thought was how impressed I was by the Captain's long-distance projectile abilities. My second thought, which was far more important, i...
