All,
I just got an update from the Placement team. They're aware of the issue and working on it. If it's not resolved soon, they'll be extending the submission deadline by 24 hours.

Same here
Same problem here.
forms.burningman.com isn't loading. I hopped on my bike and rode down to San Francisco HQ and no one was there. Worst case scenario, I'm going to email placement directly with my application, map and cleanup plan. Probably going to drop off a hard copy at HQ, too.
Super sucky.

Hey-
Stop by the Jazz Cafe sometime. Not sure of our placement yet but we've been in center camp for the past 2 years. Horn players are always welcome to sit in.

A few thoughts to consider: 1) Some, if not all, of the STS9 guys have been BRC residents for years. Don't ask me how I know this or to prove it, just trust me. 2) If you believe the previous statement, ask yourself why is it that they didn't perform as STS9 while they were there. They could have da...

Anyone know how to repair a torn parachute?
So apparently, dust storms and nasty sharp pokey metal points on a dome are not a parachutes best friend. Anyone know of any good, chea and/or easy way to repair an approximately 10' gash in a parachute? Anyone in the SF bay area that would do this kind of repair? I live right above a guy who does h...

If you have any stuff that needs to go up and hasn't found a ride yet, let me know. We're leaving Santa Cruz around midnight tomorrow (Saturday) night....

Synchronicity is all around us... During the really nasty dust storm last year, (Sunday, I think) our kitchen structure had 3 of its main metal poles bent beyond repair. We were totally hosed and had given up on having a kitchen. 10 minutes later, our new campmate arrived from DC, a friend of a frie...

The "7 Steps to Heaven" jazz speakeasy is peeling outta Santa Cruz incognito style, around 12-1am on Sunday morning and flying through the night under the radar, until we hit the promised land. We've got a big azz 15' moving van that can probably handle some more gear. Everyone's meeting up this Sun...

SpeEAkeAsy JaZZ paRtY!!! (7/15)
Howdy! The Seven Steps to Heaven speakeasy is holding a fundraiser next Thursday (July 15th) at Rasselas jazz club in San Francisco. It's a great venue for live jazz and we have some excellent acts lined up to keep everyone entertained through the evening. Along with the 3 jazz bands who will be per...

It just doesn't seem right to me. Granted, my first burn was last year and I'm no expert but my impressions remain. They are: -People at BM are more likely to do something random and spontaneous. Camps that seemed contrived were usually empty, except for a few horny guys waiting for a girl to walk b...

Hey all- This event is still in the planning stages but here's what we know so far: -The "7 Steps to Heaven" camp is planning to hold a pre-burn fundraiser at Rassela's jazz club in SF sometime in early July. -We're looking for anyone interested in performing at an open mic/jazz session. You could b...
