Didn't work, Trilo. I have reached their limit for trying. Can't install another browser, because I still haven't resolved my earlier issue... You can also clear your cookies manually. If you are on Windows, press Ctrl+Shift+Delete in your browser. The clear history dialog will appear (works for IE...

Re: Ready for Main Sale!!!
Do you guys think I should refresh? I've been sitting without any timeouts for over 30 minutes now. I wouldn't, it's refreshing... I'm in the same boat right now. As long as the timestamp shown is updating, you're okay. If your timestamp is 30 mins old, it's broken and you should probably refresh!

What the hairy fuck? ...and now my GF is getting the same message so I guess plan B of her buying me a ticket is out the window too. Once agai...

Re: Ready for Main Sale!!!
My gf had issues in the billing pipeline. Something about trying to use her canadian billing address and wanting to have her tickets mailed to my house in the US for the cheaper postage. So that screwed up and she got booted back to the queue. Her queue time is now 12:15, which is pretty lame consid...

Re: Ready for Main Sale!!!
I got in at 12:00:08. I thought I crashed out when it asked me to enter my code again on the first refresh.. but it just pushed me through to the buy page. So I've got my tickets now. Quick and easy this year. Perfect. Well, almost. It wouldn't be BM without at least a LITTLE technical issue.. When ...

Re: STEP Transferrable tickets
I'll just add that transferring through STEP directly to another person isn't enough. A scalper could still charge you a premium before directly transferring it to you via step. It seems to me, the best solution is to have a wait list of names. You join the wait list when you become interested in bu...

Re: Official "Awarded Tickets" Thread
this is coming from a sociology/psychology/philosophy major with six years of semi Ivy league years under my belt [...] You cross a road in any city and your chances of getting run over by some bleach blond driving a hot pink hummer while texting on her iPhone is about 20%. And they never taught yo...

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread
Now it's official: "We're really sorry to inform you that your entry was not selected in the Main Sale to purchase Burning Man 2012 tickets. But remember this isn't the end - other people bought a lot of extra tickets; now their friends will be able to attend too which will make the STEP program a ...

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread
I'm sure the STEP program is a lovely thing, but there are already tickets on eBay, and they're running $650 - $1500. I imagine they'll be going up from there. A little out of my price range. FAIL!!! The 'nice' thing about the STEP program is that the people/scalpers who had many entries in the mai...

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread
Just a random thought, are those who were denied tickets going to be the squeaky wheels and skew the perception of how many burners got tickets? 10 people shouting is louder then 1000 people rejoicing? And not on eplaya? I was bitching about the system before the lottery was ran. I planned to conti...

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread
One other fun fact. My girlfriend has been planning a giant trip so she wouldn't be able to attend this year. I asked her to enter the lottery in support of our camp. She thought it unnecessary and didn't enter. Since we got 1 ticket for 10 people, she now feels like shit for not trying to help out....

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread
Half my camp has now decided to skip this year. Of the ten of us, the only person who was awarded a ticket was a previously-excited virgin. Needless to say, he isn't so excited now and is contemplating if he still wants to go. I'm willing to pay a scalper a huge premium if it comes to it.. so despit...

Re: well it looks like it failed.
This was the obvious expected result. Now, will the org please release the number of registrations so we know our odds? I'd like to know just how much of a clusterfuck really was caused here. I can't wait to see the scalpers rape the STEP ticket exchange for face-value tickets the moment they're pos...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
[quote="theCryptofishist"][quote="Vorpal Blade"]are you sure that someone who indicates that they would be willing to pay at multiple tiers is going to be entered into, say, the first-tier lottery? or are they only going to be entered into the lottery at the highest tier they are willing to pay? it ...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
It seems like the perception of it being random will lead to overbidding. While I like to pay for a higher tier than required, here's an example.. if my gf and I were both wanting the best tier, we'd both bid for 2 tickets. We'd then sell the two of higher price on craig's list at some point or give...
