I'm moving to Petaluma, CA in a couple weeks. Just wondering if there are any plans for a decom party nearby. Please help me meet other burners in the area -- are there any relevant websites, Facebook groups, mailing lists, etc that I should know about?

i didn't take any photos at all, or get any email addresses of any playa pals, or really bring anything else back home. i wanted to simply live in the moment, though i'm pretty sure i'll carry a lot of these memories forever. same here. i think i took about 10 pics total and got the email addresses...

What else did it say? I saw WORBALLS, BALZDEEP, and CLAMSLAM... totally awesome. I went out to the clamslam in deep playa and found about 30 people camped out in front of it with sleeping bags and pillows. Nice.

I ran across Space Cowboys when they were parked out by the Dust City Diner one night (Wed?) and again when they were parked behind the Temple (Fri?). Not sure what genre they play since I don't normally listen to electronic music, but I'm told it could be "dirty breaks" or "tech house" or something...

Actually I found the opposite was true. This was my first burn and several things I brought (from recommended lists and forum posts) I didn't need. I was there for 8 days and only ended up using 15 gallons of water, some of which was for two showers (to be fair I also brought 8 cans of coconut water...

Got home late last night (Sunday). Had an amazing 8 days on the Playa that I can't even put into words. Now that I'm back in the real world I seem to be overwhelmed with emotion and sadness? I'm not normally this way (I only cry when people die). I didn't want Burning Man to end, and waiting a whole...

Other than this thread and checking with the NWS, is there anything else I should be looking at to determine when is a good time to go up there? Right now I'm thinking about holding off until Monday... seems like too big of a risk getting stuck since the forecast calls for 50-60% chance of rain all ...

It's supposed to rain on Saturday and Sunday in Gerlach-Empire, which I assume means also the Burning Man site. I have an early pass to enter on Saturday. Is it advisable to drive on the playa if it is raining (or has recently) ??? FYI I will be driving a Prius if that matters. No 4wd. Just wonderin...
