Re: [IMHO] BMC ticket sale process is broken!
The ticket process is Byzantine - but it still has bugs even though the Burning Man Organization has had years to perfect it. Last Tuesday for the Main sale, I was able to log in a few minutes before noon. I watched the count down - and then at noon - I entered to the Queue. Much to my surprise, I g...

Re: How to sell an unneeded STEP ticket?
It would create a lot of good will, if all Will Call tickets were now made transferable in the same way - The old rules are no longer necessary because scalping is no longer a problem - To make people get stuck with STEP tickets, considering that 1000 tickets were released on August 3rd, and conside...

Re: How to sell an unneeded STEP ticket?
It appears from Playamouth's post that Step had a backlog of sellers, not buyers when 1,000 more tickets were released. - The terms of Step were reasonably clear but both sides should have to play by them, including, - In good faith, making Step "Hassle Free" as promised in the instructions. - Makin...

Re: How to sell an unneeded STEP ticket?
It would make sense to remove the transfer restrictions, and treat all Will call tickets the same way since scalping has turned out not to be a big problem - in part because the Burning Man Organization ended up creating a huge number of new tickets- including 1,000 that were sold starting August 3r...

Re: How to sell an unneeded STEP ticket?
I can't do a name change at Will Call because after 12 years in a row, I am not planning to go this year. However, I did write Marilyn an Email with the subject line, "Please read this Email before sending a canned response."

Re: How to sell an unneeded STEP ticket?
I got a $320 ticket through Step on June 13th. On Sunday, June 5th, I tried to sell it back through Step after noting the June 7th deadline. I hadn't realized that a special link was necessary to do this, and like perroquet who posted above, I never received a "Have Tickets" Email link. - I suspect ...

Re: Selling a STEP ticket back into STEP?
I feel that I have been screwed by Burning Man tickets - After two requests for a link to sell back into Step - on Sunday and again yesterday - I got a form Email stating that Step is now closed and to sell my ticket on Eplaya - something that is impossible because it is a non transferable Step tick...

Re: Selling a STEP ticket back into STEP?
I went back and found the Email with instructions on how to sign up for Step, and the Email for signing up to purchase through Step which I used on February 28th with the link provided, and the March 2nd Email confirming my sign up - I also found the Email for the original ticket lottery and an Emai...

Re: Selling a STEP ticket back into STEP?
I am sure I haven't lost any Emails- If I go back to when I registered for Step, will I find a link that I can use to sell the ticket that I later got through Step?

Re: Selling a STEP ticket back into STEP?
I got a $320 ticket through Step in June - which I would like to sell back. I tried yesterday, and found that I had to have a particular link to do it. I bought the ticket through Step on June 13, 2012 - The link confirming my order said a link to sell back into Step would be sent in February - whic...

Re: Selling STEP, Buying STEP?
My Guess is that between 50% and 2/3 of the tickets have been awarded to scalpers -They had two full weeks to get their orders in and didn't need automated ticket buying programs. The BMORG is in denial. Significantly, it has not even admitted how many tickets could have been sold if all orders coul...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
I understand that the even though the Burning Non-Profit organization has been formed, the transfer and buy out has not yet occurred. - I think the proposed plan has nothing to do with fairness or making the ticket sales run more smoothly - The goal is to squeeze more money out of the people who usu...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
I suspect that the real motivation behind the new ticket plan has nothing to do with fairness or making the ticket buying process more efficient. I think the real motivation is to get more money from the the most Enthusiastic Burners who buy their tickets early. Since buyers will be only able to ent...
