Re: Help with departure

We leave Tuesday or Wednesday and stay in fernley. A couple nice rv places that are very burner friendly there and such a nice hard sleep. Then, depending on time we stop in kingman or flagstaff, Then Santa Rosa or home. We avoid Lubbock or Amarillo at all costs.

Re: Solution to ticket problem (2 week event)

But I want to see all my peoples during my week. This is the only time of year I get to see them. I don't think you have any idea how long people stay cleaning up after week one.

Re: Airlocks for structures and vehicles?

A guy that camped near us had a two room tent. Since the divider was just a curtain he duct taped it to the floor and then put a Velcro strip on the opening flap. Clean clothing and bedding in room two with his figjam cooler, dirty clothing removed in room one. That whole thing was up under a monke...

You could simply skip threads you don't find interesting and read the ones you like. Or use plonk. it works great.

Awesome! I will remind you of that when you opine in threads. 8)

He is not doing anything but mind fucking people who respond. Seriously, why does anyone even respond beyond pasting the email address of the appropriate department? Or just ignore him altogether and let him learn some radical self reliance. He obviously has no respect for us or the event. Let him t...

Re: How direct does human power need to be to be exempt from DMV?

I keep imagining what a rule book written by Sparr would look like. It gets so cumbersome and so outrageous that no one would attempt anything and would never attend again.

Re: Transporting bulky bedding to the playa

Hey there! We have mutual friends. Tell CFM to get her ass back over here ok? I just don't see this happening dude. The only way to get it back is find another friend who can throw it in their rv or something. If you could haul it out to the hotel and use the maids vacuum maybe, but that doesn't rea...

Spend some time poking around these threads, you might find an rv isn't necessary or even preferred.

Re: Aluminet Durability?

Great thread and thanks for all the comments. I'm pretty much in the same boat as OP. While I haven't tested the tent in playa conditions yet, Rez I can say you settled on a damn fine tent. I've used it twice so far and can see it lasting a lifetime. I initially was going to go for a Hexayurt, but ...

Re: Taller monkey hut?

Ug, they keep blowing my cover. Just ask derby Dave I'm mean. We built a hut to clear our airstream. We added the tube like you said, but we sleeve it together with the next smaller size pvc for added strength. If you look at dyewithdignity.com then the galleries you can see its present day incarnat...

Re: Aluminet Durability?

On our large hut we have 80% on 1/2 and 90% on the other. People gravitate to the 90. It is a noticeable temperature difference. I will only buy 90 now. If I had never known about the 90 I would be fine and comfy with the 80.

Yep, what he said. You can cut your pvc short enough to fit in you car and sleeve it together with slightly smaller diameter pipe.

We use 90% shade cloth and it is really excellent. We have it grommeted along the edges and it's been to six burns with no issues
