Re: Donald Trump is my hero

I'm not a Trump apologist, but I expect some fact checking. Trump never said to ingest or inject bleach, Lysol, Ty-D-Bowl or anything else. He was watching a scientific demonstration on using UV light via fiber optic into a vein, As the blood was exposed to this specific frequency of UV light, it w...

Re: What's my conspiracy?

I've totally figured out why Trump wants people to ingest disinfectant: he's secretly a pro-abortion advocate! Back in the Great America era of the 1940s to 1960s, women used Lysol and other disinfectants as a type of birth control! It was the most common form of "birth control" until the pill was a...

Re: 2020 BRC Event Canceled

It's good that they're going to start over with ticket sales. Who knows whether the camps for which DGS tickets were issued would be upholding their end of the bargain with respect to having a camp worthy of receiving DGS tickets. Plus, it'd be a huge pain in the ass to deal with another year worth ...

Re: THE PURGE!!!

I often use things, once every few years. And often find stuff I've had for 20 years, that becomes a new door or some other project. I reject this idea, for myself. I like having stuff, sort of knowing where everything is, and getting a thing, to use, or to make something else. Yeah, there have bee...

Yup, the test can only confirm that you have the virus, but not prove that you don't. It can come up negative. Some people who have been released after treatment have also come up positive again. Seems to be a sticky virus.

Hope your daughter gets well soon!

Re: THE PURGE!!!

Or if you don't want to purge stuff, bin it and catalog it with a photo and label so you don't have to open the damn thing up each time to see what's in there.

I've got lots of stuff I forget about but would be handy to use or that I can't find when I do need it.

I do hope that Rand Paul had the good sense (selfish incompetence) to touch every surface he could at GOP meetings, while he was awaiting the results of the coronavirus test he pulled strings to take, despite not being qualified to receive one . Y'know, the tests he voted against having regular prol...

Re: CoVid-19 and The 2020 Burning Man Event

The U.S. has more privately owned tigers than there are in the wild. And a fair amount of other big cats. What happens when they run out of food for them? I'm sure the plan is that the grandparents foregoing treatment as their duty to the nation stock market could be used as a food source for the p...

Re: Let's nerd out about Blacklights

Yeah, a new thread would probably be best. To quickly answer your question: any glow-in-the-dark pigment should work because I believe your welding arc will emit copious amounts of UV light that would charge it up. It'll glow for minutes to many hours depending on much pigment, and how high-quality ...

Really? So far for SARS-CoV-2, every research paper I've seen published that covered Transmission said: Droplet Transmission - yes, Aerosol/Airborne Transmission - no. Has that changed while I was away? The research is ongoing with SARS-CoV-2, but there are some indications that it is stable in aer...

Re: Tarp to block heat?

Aluminet is good stuff, but if you want a tarp, I use Harpster heavy duty silver tarps. You can get them on Amazon in different sizes you need. The tarp is light-blocking, but will still absorb some heat that radiates downwards, but there's not much and if you have airflow there is no problem. It's ...

I guess there'd be a lot of time to process and decompress while waiting 15 days each way to travel across the ocean on a container ship. That'd be like a whole month of boat travel to attend the event for one week?

You might look at the (costume) lighting tutorials on Adafruit's site and then experiment with mounting them to your bike or other things. The only thing specific I'll say is that I like using those large USB power banks for powering LEDs on my bike because they last a while, provide the needed 5V t...
