Who wants to live among thieves
After 10 years coming to Burning man I have never seen the level of theft I witnessed this year. Our camp lost one bike and had another one that was locked dragged away. After they tired of dragging it they broke into the side bags and stole water and beer. Come on stealing the beer and water was do...

Re: stolen bike from art car
Lets cut the crap It was stolen plain and simple There are some here who will blame the victim
of the theft for not locking their bike, as if that makes it ok. Stealing is stealing. Its a concept we teach 4 year old's so blame me for
expecting more from our community.

Re: Advanced Gifting: Adopt a BM Virgin (Or Be Adopted)!
I hope we are not too late with this. Our camp would like to adopt a virgin and help someone along on the first burn. Its dam overwhelming the first few times to be on the playa hoping you have all the right gear. Our camp has 10+ years of experience camping at Burning man. We have 12 x 20 feet of s...

Re: Testing a Monkey Hut - Fail
This is the way I have found to be almost fool proof on laying out a monkey hut. Put down your first stake and run a tape measure across 12 feet and put down your other stake. Now put together your spine of your monkey hut to use a as template. Line up the first spine with your first stake and put d...

Carpet mask I put that shit on everything
This will save you both time and money on clean up of your RV or car after the burn. You cover the carpet and all upholstery you can but double it up on all high traffic areas. Off playa just give it a lite sweep then just peal it up. For those who are renting RVs this is a must.

Re: Will my bike get destroyed by the playa?
Go with a beater bike but maintain it before you hit the playa. The real threat to your bike on the playa is Ali Baba and the 40 bike theives that come to Burning man. I know that BM.org says no bike is stolen unless the lock has been cut and no bike is considered lost until the event is over. Where...

Eric , Thanks for the tip on the single servings to by pass the permit. That is a great idea. But the leap you took because I resent the idea that I must have a permit to serve something is baffling. You implied that because I called it a money grab that "my care" in preparing the electrolyte drink ...

Re: BURNING MAN is going to be COLD
Its not that bad but some nights do have a chill to them. But if you are camping in a
tent no matter how cool it got. You have only 30 minutes or so before you wake
up in a sauna due to the sun hitting your tent. But thats one of the charms of this place.

It was the same for my grandfather too. He came from Serbia at the age of 13 with nothing more than a address of his uncle. As he went to Ellis Island with a name of Saava Dubiache, the clerk that checked him in told him he needed a "good American " name. From then on he was Sam Dubic. The year was ...

Earthwalker there is a guy in Paramount California Rafaels Tools which will sell that tarp for 14 dollars. Its a import but a good heavy silver tarp. We used them on two of our monkey huts last year. The trick is to anchor the sides down with candy cane rebar to keep it rigid. The wind just flow ove...

Put up a monkey hut then put your tent inside
monkey hut cost 65.00 cheap 3 man tent 30.00 The plus is you can
sleep late. Another tip is before you leave your camp for the day
spread a sheet over your stuff in your tent.It makes for a easy clean up
