Re: I was assaulted at Burning Man
I didn't see any negativity the whole time that I was there. I'm sorry to hear about Spiff.

Re: Where did everyone camp in BRC 2011?
Our main camp was off of the 3 o'clock plaza (The Bureau of Unclaimed Secrets) but my wife and I were camped at 2:30 and H. If you walked out of the first port-a-potty door across a bit of empty space we were the first shade structure (just before an RV). It was an oddly shaped tensegrity structure...

Where did everyone camp in BRC 2011?
This is just a thread to eplayans to post where their camp address was... I was camped at 2:30 and H and my playa project was to do some Metheny tunes at the temple on the night of the man burn. I was the one with a Gibson L4 and Roland amp hooked up to a deep cycle battery on a 4 wheeled dolly with...

Re: virgin question: is it REALLY that hot?
This years weather was perfect with no white outs lasting more than about 5 minutes and it never really got above the mid 90's during the week after the 29th of Aug. For very little humidity, 90 feels rather pleasant. I felt very blessed to see Sun every day. I ended up playing guitar at the temple ...

Re: Post what you DID like about 2011 here
No, I plan on shirt cocking in the future. Just in appreciatble doses. I realized how much the shirt cockers of BRC really lower the guards and release the dark of the core of the heart. I mean you can shirtvaginar all you want everyone openly appreciates it. But hey that mans got his cock out and ...

Re:
I saw a couple of guys launching mini "hot-air balloons" during the temple burn. Very cool to watch as they floated into the darkness with the flame burning underneath the white canopies. (Until the rangers told them they couldn't send up any more. I guess they might have been either a MOOP or fire...

Re: Virgin needs advice, am I being setup?
I'm going by myself to camp because I tend to be self reliant and I don't want to get "trapped" into any situation that I can't get out of. I also have plans to play some music at the temple around either dusk or dawn when it either isn't too hot or too cold. I'll be out there with my dolly/deep cyc...

In other words the deep playa is reserved for art?junglesmacks wrote:Although.. I wish I could find a favorite picture of mine of a couple with a bed on wheels that they wheeled out onto open playa for sunrise..
So, while no official camping.. no one ever said that you couldn't make yourself comfy out there..

Re: 2011 street names
The Temple is that "wavy" thing up from the Man. Center Camp is the big circus-tent looking thing down from the Man. Just so you're forewarned- this map does not include most of the "Deep Playa", which is the area past the Temple out to the Trash Fence. Are you allowed to camp on the deep playa (or...

Re: 2011 street names
My impression is that it would be built between 10 and 2 o'clock straight behind the Man on the opposite side of Center Camp.... is this correct?

Idea - Ice in Bubble Wrap
I had an idea but have no idea of how to implement it and maybe someone here with the expertise can implement it... If one could get water inside of the bubbles in bubble wrap and then create shirt and pants with it, then freeze it, it would make a pretty cool (and functional) outfit for the playa o...

Re: The Map! The Map!
That makes about as much sense as ranking the countries of South America in order of distance from their geographical centers to the Equator. The logic I'm thinking of is that with the Man in the center and the foundation of the event itself, it is like birth (centers represent beginnings), but at ...

Re: The Map! The Map!
Would it make more sense to put Birthday and Funeral at opposite ends? I think Funeral should be next to Liminal and Birthday should be next to Esplanade. Also Engagement is not as big a rite of passage as wedding, but wedding is not even listed. Hajj - we getting lots of burners from the Middle Ea...

Where to Camp
Hi,
Does anyone know how to find out which areas one can camp and where one can't? I can't seem to find it on the burning man site. I don't have an RV but I would like to have my SUV on site with me. I take it that means I can't camp in the walk in camping area?
